Happens to books I'm not completely invested in, or books with purple prose - just full of filler without any substance. A lot of young adult books are guilty of this! Interestingly, never happened to me with a Joe Abercrombie or Brandon Sanderson book, though. :)

I'm very very happy to hear that! I look forward to seeing you around :D

I feel like as kids we're just so passionate about what's on our minds. We're still reckless and impulsive and less caring about what others think. When we grow up and understand the world a little better, we realize it's not so nice of a place we thought previously, and there's a lot of jerks around :( I hope we can find that childlike wonder of simply engaging with someone fascinating again.

Some individuals just get off annoying people, unfortunately. Ignore, report, and engage with somebody else seems to work most of the time! I hope this won't wear us down!

It's definitely going to be harder when there are more different personalities mingling together. It doesn't help some people just want to see the world burn no matter what the cost... while I want to say, "Enjoy it while it lasts!" I don't want to have that kind of scenario be the default. At the end of the day, we gotta make sure we contribute into making this space the space we want it to be, and that means reporting whatever we can that break the rules, posting quality content, and just being a decent person in general. We got this, internet friend! :)

I wish I could just share my enthusiasm with everybody, but I get very anxious that what I'd find interesting people will find dull or maybe even troll... that's something I experienced with actual Reddit, I guess, and now it has carried over pretty much everywhere. I'll try my best because I want to contribute to a better experience not just for me but everybody!

I also feel sad about leaving Reddit. It's been a constant in my routine for almost a decade. If I needed anything - opinions, suggestions, advice - about literally anything I'd immediately head to Reddit. It's bittersweet having to leave, but I know deep in my heart there was no other way especially with how it was going and how it was treating its users. But honestly seeing a new, fresh feed actually felt... nice. I don't see much negativity. I actually see people replying to each other mostly decently. There's not a lot of trolling or passive aggressiveness. I feel hopeful that this will be the start of seeing healthier communities and more positive interactions. In any case, if you're here anyway, you're a part of the group of people who don't think what's happening on the other side is acceptable, so it's already a pretty great filter if you think about it.

Happy independence day, Happy Monday, Happy no work day, just overall, I hope everyone a happy day. I'm feeling very hopeful that this new forum could be the start of a healthier community.

Give Judgment and Lost Judgment a try. Same universe as Yakuza, different characters (detectives rather than yakuzas), better controls, and just as good of a story... and strangely not that long compared! I finished mine between 40-50 hours with each (with a lot of minigames in it). Plus, they're pretty stand-alone!

How did you get it to work on the SD? The controller support for Diablo is amazing, I'm sure I'd have an amazing time on the steam deck for it.

Playing some Wildermyth right now - it works just right. Yakuza Like a Dragon works like a charm on the SD, btw. That is an amazing game. Might go after Ishin Like a Dragon right after!

I'm very pleased to see us here. Reddit's changes and spez's attempt to get sympathy by literally lying to his employees re: Apollo's dev was unacceptable.
