Forget the fact that the DOJ already has the tapes and this dude is just signalling to Republican voters, why would it be the purview of the Speaker of the House to obstruct DOJ investigations and admit to it publicly?

Starving to death is one of the worst ways you can die!

The vast majority of people don't understand any of the words you just wrote, and they especially don't understand how it relates to voting.

Right, but aside from everybody deciding to return to monke overnight, this is the most the average singular person can do to fight climate change. The problem is multipronged and societal. Westerners eat way too much meat, westerners drive way too many high emission vehicles, westerners buy too much shitty plastic crap, westerners leave every light in the house on while they have 3 screens open scrolling/gaming/background noise.

Unfortunately, even if we stopped using all petroleum products right this second, there's still that nasty 50 year lag between emissions and atmospheric outcome. We'll be seeing the Earth get hotter and hotter for many years to come before it changes, and by that time, the cascading system failures of Earth's biomes may be well past the point of no return.

You hit the bottom.

It's weird how since George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, cops haven't done anything mean to black people. No reason to have a protest/riot about police brutality since the problem got fixed!

Remember: conservatism requires its followers to believe in natural hierarchies. Literally the very first rule of being a conservative is that you see yourself as inherently better than other people.

It was known. It was widely reported that there were letters written between Brian and his parents, with his parents offering to help him hide the body. It was a very well publicized case and it's weird that people forgot this massive detail.

[–] dangblingus 2 points 1 year ago

Not predicted, there were letters that investigators made public that detailed how the parents knew she was dead. They were offering to help him hide the body.

[–] dangblingus 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah we know. This was a key detail of the entire investigation when the investigation was occurring and the news reported on it.

Ahhh yes. Now of all times he must be telling the truth!

People act like Riverside is this super dangerous street because there's always accidents/fatalities on it. What people don't really appreciate is how many drivers on London roads are drunk at any given time. Also, Riverside is basically one long straight race track with one 90 degree turn. Drunks love driving on Riverside.

Truth is, you could add traffic calming measures, but the city does sometimes just randomly remove its own infrastructure because we love wasting money.

I've always been fascinated in how the process actually occurs. Is it more or less handled by software these days or are you performing the calculus yourself? What applications are you tuning? Cheers!

Okay, so forgive my ignorance, this is all pretty new for me.

Obviously a lot of us are here as Reddit refugees. People looking for a discussion forum that scratches that itch. Fediverse sounds pretty neat. Only I'm not really sure what to make of these instances. Basically, I need a separate account for each Lemmy instance? So if for some reason .world doesn't have what I'm looking for, I literally need to make a new account on someone else's instance? For example, my login doesn't work on lemmy.ca. Isn't the point that you can comment on anyone's post no matter what because it's all run through Activity Pub? Or do I have to make my own instance to federate other people's instances? Super weird.

Am I missing something here? I just want to have a place where I have 1 login and I can see the entire internet's worth of interesting stuff. Like Reddit.
