I also stopped using Nextcloud after it broke a couple of times. As a consequence I also never use :latest tag on any docker container anymore - manual updates only
When I switched to Android phone, I also switched to syncthing. If you have enough storage on your phone, it is amazing! Never looked back
I use the android share function to quickly capture links to news, things to buy, github repos, etc that i can process later.
Do you have any good suggestions for similar functionality with silverbullet? For quickly placing items/links/screenshots into a note for later processing

The one thing that is missing from web only apps for me, is that you can't use the android share functionality
I haven't found a good replacement. I use a combination of syncthing (files), paperless-ngx (pdf), markdown notes (text, lists), memos (todos), radicale (caldav todos), wallabag (web note/archive), images folders and my mobile phone apps (photos/gallery, zettel notes, paperless-ngx app, syncthing).
I enjoyed Evernote back in the day, but yeah..

The built-in gallery app on my samsung galaxy phone, in combination with syncthing.
As long as the phone has enough storage for all your images, this has been my favourite selfhosted solution so far.
I used Photoprism before, but I could never find an old picture quickly during a conversation. Now I can, 50% of the time ๐ซฃ
