I listened to https://thehomelab.show/ podcast today, and they mentioned that before doing major upgrades, you could create a clone VM from latest backups and test the upgrades before doing them for real. That way you both ensure safe upgrade and also make sure your backup is restorable.
It sounded like a good idea, but it got me thinking of the size of my LXC filled with user data.. So I was wondering if I was doing it wrong
Do you use reverse proxy?
One of the reasons I use a single lxc is that I can reverse proxy containers without exposing ports / http to the LAN, it seemed like a good feature to me.

Agreed! It has been solid. Though sometimes I want something smaller 🫣 But with room for disks😅

Managing the dockers doesn't take that much effort. Setting things up did take a lot of time, in many small chunks. I never use the :latest tag, and do manual updates. This way things rarely breaks

I have been using memos too, but I am switching to silverbullet now. I was trying to take/read some notes on an airplane, and memos didn't work offline. So that is the reason for switching. The developers said offline support is on the roadmap, and suggested using telegram integration for offline note taking until then.
I mainly use gitea for revision control of my docker compose file these days.
Ah, yes when I had iPhone I also didn't use syncthing. But now I use Android and like syncthing better than Nextcloud. NC stopped working for me a few times, syncthing has been solid

Actually I left 🫣🫣 After using it for a few years. I couldn't get a hang of it on Android, and I ended up switching to caldav for tasks and markdown for notes.

I ended up with installing a dovecot IMAP server that i can connect to from any email client. but no smtp to send emails
Then you connect to the imap server from the email client and search that way

I run it in docker and access from browser. It says it can automatically download the whole article. For me I have to hit download button each time, maybe I missed some configuration.

I'm curious, when you work on a document, how does that work; Is it a file on your hard drive, have you mounted a bucket somehow, do you sync using restful api somehow?
