I don't miss the noise in F1, but it was definitely odd being at a race weekend where you could hear the 2-seater demonstration car from a mile away, but the F1 sessions were quieter than some of the support series.

We need to stop burning fossil fuels to have a planet to race on, but if we can generate a huge amount of energy in a clean way, then I don't mind using some of that energy to make a big loud show.

The type of crash the barrier was extended to prevent is still possible, maybe they can build a safe rejoining lane by next year to get the best of both worlds.

I guess they didn't find good car footage...

As a wide-eyed kid this seemed like a no-brainer, but then having watched what Elon does with the things he owns I'm not sure it's such a good idea...

I'm on Beehaw with a couple of subscriptions to communities in other instances. I like viewing all of the local Beehaw communities as a "front page", but I'd like my other subscriptions to show up in that view without having to manually subscribe to all of the Beehaw communities.

Love Galneryus, check out some of the classic western power metal bands like Blind Guardian, or modern prog metal bands for the instrumental complexity.

I'm here from r/progmetal, and like many people there my favourite album is still Odyssey to the West by Slice The Cake. It's a prog-tech-death concept album with deeply poetic lyrics and the soundscape is just amazing.

Surprised Pokemon hasn't been mentioned yet, they're light on story compared to more serious RPGs but they're designed to be fun (at least following the main story) and are mostly successful. I haven't played the latest generation but Sun and Moon was a good pair, my biggest complaint was an overly long intro.

My group doesn't have much time for board games, so we like 5 Minute Dungeon. The 5 minutes is a limit using a timer, and it's co-op so it's everyone against the clock.
