Title says it all. I'm planning to get an M2 Mac Studio soon. Personally, I'm still coming to a decision on the following SoC & RAM options:

SoC:

  • M2 Ultra with 24-core CPU, 60-core GPU, 32-core Neural Engine
  • M2 Ultra with 24-core CPU, 76-core GPU, 32-core Neural Engine

RAM:

  • 128GB
  • 192GB

To current M2 Studio owners, how did you choose your specs and why? Also could you comment on real world performance with regards to your workflow(s)? Thanks! :)

Anyone that has done software/hardware development knows that more new features usually means more bugs/broken stuff. I'm always glad to see stability/minor updates

+1 for Adguard, link for convenience. No need to pay either, the free tier is more than adequate.

The truly horrifying part about all of this is that the large corporations who are mostly responsible for greenhouse gas emissions are continuing to conduct business as usual. I'm doubtful anyone has the (political) will or ability to force them to stop...

I use this one; works great for both peripherals and external hdds.

I see so many posts complaining about ads but never enough posts about using an Ad Blocker. These take a minute to setup, cost nothing, and don't require you to spend time maintaining them. Let's make the internet/YouTube usable again!

Desktop Browser

Mobile Browser

  • Safari (iOS): AdGuard (free tier is fine)
  • Firefox (Android): uBlock Origin.
    1. Open Firefox
    2. 3 dot menu in upper right corner
    3. Tap Add-ons
    4. Tap the + icon next to "uBlock Origin"
    5. Tap Add
    6. Tap Okay, Got it

Blackhole: Allows you to split/duplicate/route audio between apps on your Mac.

One of the first things I always install is an Adblocker.

Is Mac better with Steam and games now?

It could be soon. Apple just dropped their Game Porting Toolkit last month.

I use Safari with the AdGuard (free tier) app. Haven't seen a YouTube ad in months.
