I'm not even sure it's for votes anymore. Ten or fifteen years ago I could believe that they were pandering for votes. These current "legislators" seem more like true believers and less like con men. As it seems to get worse each election cycle.

I assume it's like api calls where it costs me two calls to write this response. One to view yours and one to write this reply.

Right now there are about 200 posts on this thread so if I scroll through this thread it would cost me 200 calls.

I think part of that second wave were people hoping that someone internal at reddit knocking some sense into spez last minute.

Hmm, that's an interesting way to look at. It does seem to track that as interest rates went up so did enshittification. Too bad the reverse won't be true if rates go back down, all the big players will probably double down on cashing out if they're still around by then.
