It's a mineral auction website, but it's also fun to scroll through with a cup of coffee.

Commercial from 1977 showing how it worked.

Toys when I was a kid (70s and early 80s) were a lot less sexualized. We had Barbie and her big boobs, but the other dolls and such were just toys. Clothes too.

Because early 1980s? It's funny how I kind of remember thinking that when I got it as a gift, but that was a long time ago.

OK so. This is the cool part of having kids. You get to buy the toys you wanted as a kid and play with them. I mean, you could do that anyway, but you don't have to be as sneaky about it.

Yes. I have a distinct memory of making it go down stairs. The weight of the metal is absolutely necessary.

They're crazy fun, so they'll never die. If it helps, I played on one in the early 1970's.

How? Not joking. They're were molded one piece rubber. Your shop must've been cool.

Thanks so much. I'm usually better about this.

So your family was rich rich, lol. Having two tvs was brag-worthy, so long as you didn't tell them why you needed it. Do you remember being able to "see" what color they were wearing on the black and white?

And you had to boil the water before putting it in. I never saw one with moldy water, but I imagine someone somewhere did. Eww.

His butt would light up too. That's where the "glo" comes from.

USA for sure. I had one as a kid. It would have been about 1974 that I specifically remember another kid having one and knowing I wanted one too. We were in a gymnasium playing that game that involved all of the kids holding onto a big parachute and making it go up and down and jumping underneath it when it came back down. If you're in the US, you should know that game. It was a good day.
