/r/aoe2 was one of my favorites. I hope plenty of users decide to make the switch.

I think what they are referring to is this.

The concern is that since the operator of the instance is not a huge corporation, it would be easier to achieve. I would bet that it's possible for an instance operator to have ip addresses of their users. So, it is a legitimate concern.

Maybe more complicated than what you are looking to do, but you could look into install prowlarr, then setting notifications up in that.

So far the mobile site is way better than Reddit. I feel like Reddit was always humping my leg trying to get me to install their shitty app.

I also really like the federated aspect, but I do agree with others in that I fear this may be too confusing for the average user and it won't catch on.

You could try starting your own community?

You can do whatever you want inside the container. If you wanted to update inside it, you can, but it's probably not worth the effort. The downtime depending on the app can be just a few seconds when you rebuild the container.

Dope, I'll look into that as well. I think im going to start with cloudflare tunnels. I've heard of it, but never used it. I think this may be my first appropriate use case.

Interesting, I'll need to look into that.
