This is a negative of undocumented immigration though. They should be treated as people, not as cattle.

Americans would do the jobs, just not with those conditions and wages. Undocumented immigrants need to do anything they can. The owner is going to choose to pay the immigrant less and cut corners on safety or other costs 9/10 times.

It's an inherent contradiction of capitalism, the same one which used to be solved by slavery and colonialism, the need for maximum profit.

Thats why the way to stop the harmful effects of undocumented immigration isn't to crack down on immigrants, but to crack down on corporations and document the immigrants. (And to reduce push factors such as neo-colonialiam and imperialism in their home countries)

Tell that to the immigrants the Dems keep fearmongering about.

Vice President Harris and Governor Walz believe in tough, smart solutions to secure the border, keep communities safe, and reform our broken immigration system. As Attorney General of California, Vice President Harris went after international drug gangs, human traffickers and cartels that smuggled guns, drugs, and human beings across the U.S.-Mexico border. As Vice President, she supported the bipartisan border security bill, the strongest reform in decades. The legislation would have deployed more detection technology to intercept fentanyl and other drugs and added 1,500 border security agents to protect our border. After Donald Trump killed the border deal for his political gain, she and President Biden took action on their own — and now border crossings are at the lowest level in 4 years, their administration is seizing record amounts of fentanyl, and secured funding for the most significant increase in border agents in ten years. As President, she will bring back the bipartisan border security bill and sign it into law. At the same time, she knows that our immigration system is broken and needs comprehensive reform that includes strong border security and an earned pathway to citizenship.

How is this not complete "they're bringing drugs over our border, some I assume are very fine people" rhetoric? But it's worse, because now this is the position of the "leftist" party.

When the "leftist" party is right wing on immigration, the right has to seperate themselves somehow, so now the ratchet clicked and Trump's calling for pogroms.

The "Republican Party of yesterday" was the fucking Moral Majority. The Democratic Party is absolutely nothing like the "Republican Party of yesterday."

The Republican party of yesterday was the Republicans of yesterday who are now endorsing the Democrats, because the Democrats best represent their ideology, otherwise they would be endorsing someone else.

Argue it all you want, they aren't secret leftist heroes.

Because the Dem party is the Republican party of yesterday, not of today.

In 2038+ when they are the ex Republicans and Democrats have "compromised" their way to the current Republican parties position, they'll be there.

They're just supporting the same right wing Republican policies they have supported all along, the Dems just represent that viewpoint now.

Because it's one of the few issues that the Democratic party and Republican party both tout as a problem.

Nobody will stop them?

Why does it really matter that issues can be "discussed" if the issue being discussed is as atrocious as what Israel is doing to Palestine.

Israel and the US know that what they're doing is wrong. Them and their crony countries aren't going to change course because of this.

It doesn't exactly prevent WW2 if they tell Hitler to stop and he doesn't listen...unless of course they choose to let him continue his goals unimpeded rather than go to war, citing their documented disagreement as sufficient counter action...

How many users does IG have that are registered as under 18?

I'm 25 now, but I still always say I was born in the 80s out of habit...

It's a good step, but it won't fix things.
