Because he also deleted user comments after being removed from his position as moderator - using access to a moderator-bot that wasn't removed yet - we have now permanently banned his account and his alts.

Yep, this community is banned from lemmy.ml - no special code or anything suspicious going on.

We also passed on the information to other instances and for example sh.itjust.works also defederated from them.

Thank you for reporting!

Just FYI. We defederated from this instance. The admin was also posting racist and homophobic memes.

Nothing is happening on alien.top. Set if to 'local' and 'comments' and there is a handful of comments from the last hour and before that it was 13 days ago

Since we have quite a few new users, not everyone might be familiar with how Lemmy and the instances work. So I'm gonna link @[email protected]'s excellent guide to Lemmy here also.

If you have any questions you can always post them here or you can post them in the lemmy.world !support community.

Two quick-tips:

  • if you want to tag a user, start by typing an @ and the first letters of the name and you will be presented with a drop-down menu to select users.
  • if you want to link a community, start with an ! and the first lketters of the community name and you can choose the community name from a drop-down list.

These 2 features don't work on all mobile apps (yet).

First of all, wefwef is amazing. Really love where this app is going, being web-based and thus multiplatform. It's great! I do have some questions. One has been answered in a different thread which was how login credentials were stored, so that was answered already.

So this might sound like a stupid question, but how do I start a thread in a community? I can easily find how to reply and all but I can't find how to start a new discussion 😅

The rest is pretty straightforward, but I do have some feature requests.

  • Allow linking to a user by starting with an @ and typing the user name, like you can on the web
  • Allow linking to a community by starting with an ! and typing the community name, like you can on the web
  • Access to the mod tools
  • Access to the admin tools

I hope it's ok to post this here. Thank you!

I just found Liftoff! and I have to say I like it so far. It still has some issues but I see the devs are on it so for now this is the one for me.

But that might change once Sync For Lemmy comes out :)

Hey!

First of all, congratulations with the release of Liftoff! Nice that you decided to create the apps' community on Lemmy.world and that it is the default instance :)

I came across a bug where when I want to see the Top Day posts for my subscriptions it would say "no posts". I added a screenshot.

I checked the GitHub but there doesn't seem to be an issue report about it yet.

Edit: it's actually doing this for all options under "Subscribed", so not just Top Day.

Community Update #4 (self.drumandbass)
submitted 2 years ago by antik to c/drumandbass

I've been a bit less active here the last few days. I recently joined the admin team of this community's home instance https://lemmy.world and I'm modering some of the support communities here too so between that and the festival season kicking off I'm trying to balance things as much as I can. I'm very grateful for the mod team we have so far, especially @ohmyiv has been doing a tremendous job both with content and interacting with the community.

I also see more and more people coming out of lurking-mode and posting tracks and mixes here. Also the interaction between the people here has been simply wonderful. There has not been any toxicity - zero times did we have to remove a post or ban someone. You guys are amazing! I hope we can keep that vibe going! We also passed another milestone with over 300 subscribers now. Welcome to those that just joined us :)

So we kinda brought this up during the last Community Update but we're still looking for some extra hands. While the moderation part has been a breeze, we don't want to put the pressure of having a task done on one guy only. For example, keeping the Spotify playlist up to date with the latest tracks is not a heavy task but it's still nice to have some backup. Especially since we also want to create a Youtube playlist in the near future.

I'm also thinking about getting some Q&A's up here. So that's another thing we'll hopefull have more on later.

So calling out to everyone here, if you want to be involved in the team by managing our spotify or youtube playlist, getting more diverse content on here or anything else you think that would be cool - drop by on our discord server.

That's it for now!
