Changelog

  • upvoting and downvoting now have haptic feedback
  • the first image from a post's body now appears as a thumbnail/gallery item
  • fixed thumbnail loading issue for URL posts
  • usernames are shown with the instance name
  • improved community page header
  • posts with combined markdown body + image thumbnails are now displayed correctly

I think I'd like to add posting to the app soon, that's kind of the next "big" thing that I can think of as being missing.

It might not make it to the next build, but hopefully shortly after 🤞

  • markdown links now open in the in-app browser
  • feed screen can now be filtered by All/Subscribed/Local
  • gallery images load faster
  • titles are now displayed in the gallery view
  • posts with URLs are now always links
  • improved layout of posts with URLs and no image previews

I've only been able to spend an hour or two per week on development, but hopefully this can pick back up soon — I'm having a lot of fun adding new features to the app even if it's not super polished yet.

Happy browsing!

TestFlight Release (testflight.apple.com)
submitted 1 year ago by abejfehr to c/lemmit

Sorry for the lack of posts, but it's been a bit of a journey to prepare myself mentally for getting feedback on the app and I'm pleased to announce that I'm now ready for the public to try it!

Disclaimer: this app is embarrassingly bad. It's rough around the edges in terms of design and functionality, but as the quote goes: "if you're not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you’ve launched too late".

This probably won't ever be the best Lemmy client, but it's the one I plan on using so I'll keep developing it, at least for the foreseeable future.

Please share any feedback, there's a lot of room for improvement!

Introducing Lemmit (self.lemmit)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by abejfehr to c/lemmit

I'm proud to introduce Lemmit, my new Lemmy client for mobile.

The project is just under a week old and it's possible to view posts, comments and communities, but not much else at the moment.

You can suggest features and talk about what you'd like to see in a Lemmy client here, and vote on your favourite features in the Trello board here.

I'm hoping to submit my first build to the app store today so I can collect feedback as early as possible.
