We have a nation of people who voted for the people who selected the extreme far right conservatives into the court.
Voters deserve much of the blame too.
As everyone else is rightly saying, don't get complacent.
But how awesome would it be if we had a landslide victory, to include keeping the senate and taking back the house?

Retirement shouldn't be an option for him. He was the head of the department and therefore has responsibility of those he leads, the deputies under him. If he didn't want that responsibility then he shouldn't have taken the job. People want the reputation and the salary benefits of leadership positions, but they don't want the responsibility, or don't understand it. For something like this the guilty deputy and his leadership should both be held accountable and responsible. The sheriff is a failure as a leader and his job.
He should have been fired already. No pension. Dare I say, due to the nature of this crime, he should have also been arrested? Leadership positions should be held to much higher accountability imo.

This is capitalism. The goal of the Olympics is to make money on advertising, not to give nice expensive rewards to the athletes. The athletes are tools to make money for rich people. TV, advertising, sponsors.
The cheap metal serves its purpose. It looks nice initially for a few days while the winners take pictures. After that it doesn't matter.
