Yeah, I’m just posting more news in the community since the Florida lemmy doesn’t get enough news articles

No prob, I’m thinking about sharing more news articles since it seems like the community is a little lacking in the department. Figured I’d do my part to fix that

That’s for sure

For $220+ purchases you can get both the Tahu and Takua GWP and the Blacktron GWP. It’s a bit pricey but at least people can buy stuff like technic or Star Wars now instead of the limited themes like they had last time

F.A.Q

Here's a quick FAQ, which will be slowly expanded on in the future.

Q. How can I join the Discord server?

A. Click Here!

Q. Where can I reach the Community Mods?

A. If you have questions and concerns, preferably reach us via the discord server above. The Lemmy messaging system is currently not the best right now, but I am sure it'll get better with time.

Q. Where can I get Bionicle pieces and/or sets?

A. Bricklink, Brickowl, Ebay, and Craigslist(or local equivalent) are good places to look.

Q. Where can I find a specific piece?

A. All Lego pieces(save a few, insubstantial number) have ID numbers on them. Look for that number, and search for it on sites like Bricklink.

Q. How much is my set/mask worth?

A. Check with Bricklink, or join our discord. We have some collectors who could probably help you with this if you need.

Q. What are some digital designers I can use to build and design MOCs?

A. Lego's LDD, or Lego Digital Designer is a common and popular one, but does not have much variety of Bionicle parts. Stud.io, found on Bricklink, is a newer option that would be better recommended to Bionicle fans.

L. LDD L. Stud.io

That sounds like a good idea, although focusing all posts on here for the meantime would probably be best for community growth. iirc the branch off into memes happened because the community was large enough to warrant it.

I’m all for free speech, but we need to instate stricter rules and regulations for the press. Before Reagan came around, the press was federally funded, now look at the hellscape he has created

Wikipedia is able to pull that off because wikipedia is a digital encyclopedia, not a social forum to add comments to or respond at a massive scale like lemmy is or reddit was. A majority of services either get their revenue from ads, or they start off not doing that but eventually have to cave in and let ads in.

I think ads can be annoying sometimes, but if they're done in a similar way reddit did them before their downfall, then it would be tolerable and at least give the lemmy.world admins enough money to cover server running costs

I feel bad for the lemmy.world admins that have to keep up with the software needed and costs accrued to handle the world knocking on their doorstep. I hope advertisers hit them up soon so their bills become easier to pay. While advertising was annoying on reddit, I'm more than willing to put up with it on this instance of lemmy, the admins have earned it.

I've become a more avid lurker compared to a infrequent lurker on reddit

The Porndex says otherwise
