I believe that is the only place I learned about tourniquets in first aid cert. In that case you can use a shirt and a piece of stick. I'm doubtful of "hours without further damage" though. They definitely have their place but for understandable reasons they're not recommended for regular first aid.

Last few times I did my first aid certificate I was taught not to use tourniquet; in fact it wasn't taught at all. I guess in most situations it makes sense not to use it, in situations where it would make sense to use it I would not have first aid kit handy.
Sorry, my reply was just a quick reaction trying to highlight that neither dems nor reps fight for their voters.
I just wrote the first party other than the dems or reps that I could think of, because I know that neither the former or latter fight for what their voters want.
I'm not extolling virtues of an Sync's code. I also don't understand why a lot of people automatically think that open source is better "because anyone can look at it". All I'm saying that to me it's much of a muchness. I don't understand code so open or closed it's not a draw card for me.
