You can’t change icons from the system/launcher settings. Individual apps can offer icon options, but they are internal to the app.

It is also sometimes annoying when you try to crop the margin of a photo and the cropping area overlaps with the back gesture trigger area. But for me gestures win every time because the back gesture, which is the most common of the 3 operations, is available anywhere my thumb currently is, not just on the bottom edge of the screen.
Interesting. I have to try that. I remember reading that MS do the same for the web version of Outlook, but I don't use that, so I can't confirm.
YouTube has been ok for me in Firefox, but other Google apps, in particular Docs/Sheets, always become very laggy after a few minutes. When this happens, it seems to affect the rest of the browser too, so other tabs that I have open slow down as well.

To me it shows the GitHub repo (at the top of the results), but not newpipe.net.

Not surprising. The quality of their articles is usually mediocre at best. I occasionally look at their RSS feed and most of what I see is “How do I achieve ”–style posts.
I can see posts fine. If you haven't cleared the browser data for lemmy.world since the hack last night, that might help.
You would need to set up routes on these other devices to tell them that VPN devices can be reached through the Pi. It’s possible, but I’ve never done it myself, so I don’t have any useful pointers.
