I doubt a no name company would be pulling all this attention out of marketing alone. If it was this easy everyone would do it.

In all fairness, this is not a great game. It's a very derivative game whose only appeal is that it combines things in a way that hasn't been done much. Like many other hype trains of questionable quality, it just happened to scratch the right itch for the right people at the right time.

For the average user, might as well. Most people don't use PCs in casual settings and most Android phones come with Facebook preinstalled.

Real broke or investor "broke"? That is, "it isn't wildly surpassing the level of profits it makes every year".

So, regular microtransactions?

Prepare for D&D Beyond with class and gear lootboxes

They gotta do it better than the OC creator then

Bold to assume. After making a human girl kiss Sonic, and having him freed from years of torture only to become an OC's best friend, they aren't upticking anything.

A lot of people on the internet don't realize how much content is plain copyright infringement that simply doesn't get pursued. Memes, fanart, edits, covers, so forth.

Personally I think that should be reason to rethink how IP law is written, if the average person doesn't find so many uses infringing and they have become part of the typical cultural habits. But that hasn't happened.

A lot of technology is expensive when it's first introduced and it has not reached mass market yet. Bigger TVs were already gaining popularity before Smart TVs. Getting cutting-edge display tech from a couple decades ago ain't all that.

Nah, this stuff is not nearly cheap enough to justify all the spyware and ads.

Cheap? I must have missed that part.

I was going to say Iji. Such an amazing game, it's like the 2D version of an immersive sim. I wish there was a remake only so the dev could make the money they rightfully deserve.

Bent and crushed floppies were less of a problem than simple failures of reading and writing them, which in my memory happened much more often than they do to USB drives now. I don't see people breaking usb sticks in half that often either.
