Doesn't have to be women, I've accidentally startled dudes as well. Being a pretty broad and tall dude I usually only keep my size in mind to keep out of the way or make sure I don't bump into things or hit my head on stuff.

But when I think about it, of course it would be intimidating to run across someone a foot and a half taller and twice your weight. It would be like me being tailed by Shaq in the middle of the night.

I'm a registered Democrat,

Do you think falling for gop propaganda as a liberal makes you sound any smarter?

Polio vaccine argument is so tired

Solid rebuttal..... Guys, if you don't have an answer to a question you can just say it's tired!

the Covid shot is not a vaccine, big pharma and politicians hood winked Americans.

Ahh, a man of words and science! Please tell me, what great place of learning taught you this medical wisdom?

Big pharma is not your friend

Never said it was?

And...... What is the conservative argument? That we shouldn't have to submit to something as unremarkable as a vaccine, even for the sake of the safety of our fellow citizens?

Does that thought also apply to the draft? Should I have to defend my fellow countrymen if we are attacked? What if I don't believe defending my country would benefit me personally?

The reason people like you talk in smug platitudes is because there is no consistency in your ideology. You just mouth off generalities and then insults when pressed about the massive amounts of cognitive dissonance you point of view rest upon.

I stopped talking and started listening

Lol, this is your version of "stopped talking"? How about you go ahead and practice that aspect just a little harder?

lol the Covid shot doesn't stop the spread

And the flu shot doesn't stop the spread of the flu..... Because that's not the point of the flu shot.

The whole point was to lessen the transmission rate and to reduce the severity of the illness. Which the COVID vaccine did very well, especially in at-risk communities.

firing people if they didn't take a medical procedure or not letting them participate in society is very Soviet Union of them.

You know we've been doing that since polio.... Right? You can't get into public schools without immunization paperwork. The only reason you have an opinion about vaccines is because the GOP told you what opinion you should have.

Oh you haven't been paying attention to the conservatives saying that we shouldn't support Ukraine then? Cause they have absolutely been saying that. It's part of why the spending bill to delay the shutdown of the government had to remove aid to Ukraine to be able to pass.

I already said the house is a cesspool? Of course there's going to be people who don't fall in line, conservatives are contrarian in nature.

And what do you mean Biden could do nothing? His job is to be the best politician. His job is to run the country and be the stop gap for checks and balances. He has the right and ability to talk to the people and the Congress about what is needed as a country.

His job is to be the head of state, not to get involved with politicians in Congress. He has no authority over Congress, he has no leverage over Congress, and attempting to do so would conflict with the balance of power.

What do you think he could say to convince the most radical conservatives in Congress to do anything productive?

Just because we are so divided that it would be bad doesn't mean that's not what the position is for.

I mean, that's literally not what the position is for........

The aid offer is definitely a bribe to get them to try and force a speaker election. That's hardly conspiracy even if it is on technicality.

Lol, they've had like half a dozen in a few weeks..... It's not like they're trying to stall, or that they don't want to elect a speaker, they're just shit at organizing because the allowed radicals in their party.

They would have voted anyways, there's no need to bribe anyone.

And the way your framing this intentionally diminishes the clear rise in Anti Semitic violence we're seeing across America and the world.

Yeah my dude, violence against minority populations has risen across the board in the last few years. That's kinda a known issue when people start electing white supremacists.

What we were speaking of specifically is people committing violence against Jewish people for their perceived association with the actions of the Israeli state.

We have clear recent examples demonstrating that your argument doesn't hold up.

Do we though? I mean, I'm not combing over the Internet for Islamic reprisal attacks on Jewish Americans, but I haven't seen attacks that would justify your claim.

You're an Anti Semite and you're disgusting.

You know every time you inappropriately utilize that label it diminishes its impact and warps its definition. Just because someone doesn't agree with your point of view, doesn't mean they hate your entire race. It's kinda ridiculous to attempt to frame it that way considering the historical context.

The house can't fucking pick a speaker and it's not looking good so instead of the president trying to talk to the representatives he decided to just skip over them and basically wave a check for 100 billion in the air for the military industrial complex (one of the oldest lobbying groups) to basically figure it out for him for their reward.

I think this is overcomplicating a pretty simple dilemma. The house is a shit show, mainly because the conservative party stopped any sort of quality control after they made gains with the freedom caucus. Despite this they have always been more protective over the Senate, where foreign policy is dictated.

Biden has zero ability to negotiate with the house, any way he could get involved would likely just make things worse. Plus, why would he even want to interrupt his opponents from looking incompetent? Even conservative media outlets have been struggling to retcon this debacle.

Both the executive and the Senate know that supporting the Ukranians is a priority for Western interest. It doesn't take a conspiracy to get the liberals and conservatives to reach across the aisle on foreign policy, it's usually the only thing they agree upon.

This is just the Executive and Senate insuring that the lights stay on while the kids in the house figure their shit out.

The way that you framed that statement makes it seem as if you can't have a problem with a state's actions without also hating its people.

Secondly, this woman was victimized in her own home, which usually implies that she knew the perpetrator. It could still be racially motivated, but there's not a lot of evidence supporting that. If she had been killed near or around a synagogue, it would make more sense to jump to that conclusion..... However, for the time being it's best to wait and see what the police say before calling everyone a terrorist.
