I'm only on the official app because I moderate a few subs. Doing it with a phone is a bloody nightmare but I can't be at the computer all the time! My subs are dark with a single message that were staying that way.

How is your son? ๐Ÿ˜

[โ€“] Tinawebmom 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's literally not your child. Why do you think you get a vote in this?

[โ€“] Tinawebmom 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

When you were a child you already knew if you were gay. If your family was supportive you grew up and dated whom you liked. If not you his who you were and might "realize" you were gay much later in life.

A child knows who they are on the inside. This decision belongs to parents and their children. Not anyone else. It quite literally doesn't concern anybody else.

Studies have shown a very very small percentage regret their choice.

Therefore let them alone and mind your own business.

You can't actually convince them that the way they think is wrong. They're programmed at this point. Refusing to give them an echo chamber is the best option.

Mod of small (~26,000 users) sub. We'll be staying dark indefinitely. Talking to my other mods for other subs and recommending they do the same. We're tiny but hopefully it sends a message to our users.

Remember secret Santa?

I was talking to my tech kids (programmers for a very well known company) I told them how puzzled I was. The guy that created secret Santa was gung-ho to create a new one the second reddit announced they were closing it down. Then he disappeared.

The kids then explained non-compete and why it's always included with contracts.

Reddit closed secret Santa down but wouldn't let him bring a similar thing back.

Why? What is wrong with them?

PS this is conjecture only I haven't spoken to him as he truly is MIA

The vitriol is rough in certain subs I'm a very positive person and had to step away from that sub because the attacks were every second.

Why people care about things that literally do not effect them boggles my mind.

---they don't care. They want control or are afraid. So they attack. It's awful and they need all the hugs to get over the fear.

I have had long hair my whole life. It was a drastic change and yeah it couldn't grow fast enough.

I'm glad she's leaning into it!

Segue into haircut.

I went and got a spiral perm thinking it would be the perfect curly I've been looking for..... It wasn't. My hair was over processed. I knew how to deal with that from my kids bleaching their hair. I dealt with it for almost two years.

I went to a beautician and told her to cut the perm out. I was over it and the damage.

I left work with hair that when straightened went to the middle of my back. I returned the next day with hair just below my earlobe.

Turns out that my hair follicles had changed and now....... Well I will never need another perm the rest of my life.

Hair grows and changes. She has the chance to rock a Mohawk (if this is no longer what is called I apologize). Or dye it the rainbow! It's short so it'll grow out quickly!!

Now if the time to have some fun!

Yeah now look into the way they define sexual battery. This isn't just for pedophiles.

You know. I modded one of the largest subs on reddit. In order to be approved as a mod I had to take a class on what reddit expects from it's mods. Honestly I was floored because I've seen too many mods behave poorly and reddit just shrugs at the behavior.

Guess it only applies if you're not a super mod. What do I know.
