This seems like a really interesting development. This seems like an interesting way of overcoming EV range anxiety. Hopefully battery technology will continue to evolve but maybe cars that can regenerate their batteries by driving might be part of the future too.

Has anyone tried Grackle Go? It is a new online PDF accessibility checker that I believe is free. I plan to explore it more next week. I wonder how it compares to PAC and Adobe. #accessibility

Just noting that the WCAG domain is owned by eSSENTIAL and not the W3C. This W3C article provides guidance on important accessibility items for content authors like page titles, alternative text, heading structure, and descriptive links. #accessibility

June 28, 2025, is when the European Accessibility Act will take effect. This will require countries to check the accessibility of their digital content, ensure it is accessible, and provide a way to report any accessibility issues. This should lead to more accessible digital books that meet WCAG 2.0 or EPUB 3 standards in the European Union. Hopefully, the impact of this act will extend across the world and lead to more accessible digital content. #accessibility

Thank you! Your answer is very helpful. I hope to promote the developers creating accessibilty tools for the fediverse in the future. If you know of any please share. I'm quite busy at the moment but I'd like to explore developing accessibility tools for the platform when I get more time down the road too.

No problem. Yeah there are a lot of cool assistive technologies and devices coming out. It is an exciting time. Have you heard of the apps Be My Eyes or Seeing AI. Those might be ones to check out too.

I agree with your point and the tech has developed very slowly. However, there are interesting developments in the sector. Have you heard of Lightyear? If they can deliver by 2025 it will be a step toward 600 mile range.

Beyond improving battery technology solar might help reach this goal too. The new top trim Prius Prime has solar panels, which MKBHD highlighted can add minimal range. Maybe as solar tech improves they can add more panels to the car and recharge the battery faster.

I use Habitica and Forest. I try to gamify everything. Also rewarding myself for staying on track with 10 to 30 minutes of video games. I find I like audiobooks and podcasts to be in the background when I'm studying. I also use the Calm app a lot when I'm working. I like the city and coffee shop soundscapes. I've listed to This American Life Cars 129 about 50 times while doing my literature review. I am working full time, my wife and I have a new baby and I am also getting my doctorate. Another key strategy is waking up early like 5 AM to do a self-care routine to start the day. I meditate and exercise as part of my Habitica habits. It helps me get focused and feel ready for the day. I never took any medication growing up although the doctor recommended it. My parents made me meditate every day for 30 minutes when I got home from school and on weekends. I was basically grounded until I did that. It helped a lot for me. Those are some of my strategies.
