While generally right here.

they have not been retired for nearly a decade. THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN. but they've been holding on. How many companies have fossils still leading them?

as someone in my 40's, just before millenials. We were lost because there's simply no way up the ladder to places the boomers refused to vacate. doesn't matter how educated, experienced many of us were, There was a ceiling. We were told "hold your turn. boomers will retire soon"... they're in their 70's and 80's now. My parents included (Thankfully with us). But they're all STILL TRYING TO WORK!

My parents at least DID retire Mostly. MY dad still does some work because to the boomers, work was living. they really knew nothing else.

problem is now the combination of Covid and age, and many of them legit dying while still working, we've got a clusterfuck of an economic problem (here in Canada, we're already experiencing this wave). Immigration, Local resources, and infrastructure is just simply not setup for the mass wave of retirees going straight into either homes, or the ground. We can't import people fast enough to fill all the jobs, and the faster we import them, we can't build homes fast enough to keep the housing in check.

have to get ahead of this 10 years ago sadly. We're too late and we'll all be playing reactionary for the next 20 years in regards to the shifting demographcs.

Probably, but it's weird. I've seen Hamas flags at rallies already with zero police response. We've seen videos of masked Hamas supporters down town issues threats, with zero police action.

So it just seems a little weird to suddenly now action it. I'm all for removing these hate symbols. Just wondering exactly what triggered it NOW instead of years of it (Seeing Pro-Hamas messaging is not new post Oct7th, just ramped up)

I'd also love to see the same thing happen to anyone waving Nazi flags, or white supremacist messaging too.

I am genuinely curious what the flag was.

I have seen in my life in Ontario flags of all sorts, and yes, many hate flags. Nazi symbolism, isis, hamas even in the past and never heard of any hate based arrests before.

IT has become an almost meme that "freedom" protests seem to always bring a swastika or two to the party, and yet, never any arrests.

this is curious to me as to what flag specifically did the police deem warranted the arrest this time around, despite our previous lackadaisical behaviour towards hate symbols.

Well, not keen on being on an international criminal list for illegal exports of Cannabis products. I'm no Mark Emery (thats good).

But if you find yourself in the GTA, I would gladly take you to a pot shop and give you my recommendations.

This comes as zero surprise to me.

One of the OPC's longest ideologies has been privatization and the dumbing down of Ontario for "open for business". Ford is no better than Harris was on this front and continues to destroy the public work Canada had done to build up our Universities.

Ford and the OPC have already evidenced they don't want the big universities to work and succeed. They want the local "diploma mills", Private education insitutitons to control the province.

We have to remember one of the first scandals Ford had when taking office was immediately trying to giving accreditation status to a Christian propaganda school who just so happened to have Ford donators running it: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/canada-christian-college-denied-university-status-1.6036979

Thank you! Hopefully we can somehow encourage conversation and more people!

no, but if you listened to the advertising by my local MP's and Mayor, it destroyed the fabric of this country and the worst decision any government has done in Canadian history

They do. You can get capsules with properly dosed amounts of THC/CBD etc.

the problem is convincing the medical community in large that it's a drug that has enough merit to be considered for larger amount of people. Right now, no insurance company will cover it. No Pharmacy stocks THC/CBD medication. And getting "medical" weed requires a lot of jumping through hoops that just aren't worth it right now considering I can just go to the store and buy it retail anyways

Really depends where you are. But there's a massive oversaturation in some areas. Downtown Stouffville for example has like 15 right now. Stouffville has a population of 40,000. but at the same time, they are also serving other areas who have no shops. For example Markham and Richmond Hill both opted to ban sales of pot in their areas, as well as public consumption (bylaw)

I hate Ford. But I don't have a problem with anyone who wants a license being able to get one. Cannabis is a luxury product and like all retail/consumer luxury goods, there's no need to regulate the business for "success". let the free market sort this out. Yes some of them will fail. That's free market.

If the shop you frequent is almost always empty, it's likely because it's not a well regarded shop or chain. The store I go to (not chain) always has people in it. Even when I show up at 9am for opening, there is always people in it. but it's also a little further away from any other pot shops and has a good reputation

Not under current US Federal regulations. While individual states have somewhat legalized it. US Federal regulations have it strictly prohibited and illegal. So it is illegal to import.

these companies had banked on US federal deregulation happening faster.

but consumption of one will slow consumption of the other.

Someone needs to tell my wallet this :p

Not all products have an infinite demand curve though. In this case, a luxury product with a finite consumer base. Even if they gave it away for free, there will still be the majority of the population who will not want to use it.

unlike things like groceries, which have a constant demand due to being staples and required for life sustenance. If you gave them away for free, you end up with Hoarding and unlimited demand.
