I once spent 12 hours traveling across 3 states.

One state was gone in 3 hours, the next in about 5 MINUTES since it was just the tip, and the remaining 9 took me to the other side. Granted, at the time, the speed limit was 60 the entire way, and the vehicle was limited to 55 for the trailer.

She was absolutely between a rock and a hard place. You have a responsibility to get everyone home, but you can't just dive straight in and strong arm your way to get there as fast as possible, both because that's a shitty thing to do and because you'll likely face consequences at the very least by starfleet when you get home, maybe by delta species who don't like what you're doing.

Honestly I don't know a single person who has a negative thing to say about Janeway, except maybe she was too restrained sometimes.

How many of the crew, especially the Maquis, had nothing to return to and could have settled on one of the worlds they encountered? That said it's a completely foreign society whose complications and nuances you couldn't possibly be able to comprehend in the few weeks Voyager is within range.

Seska? I'm not aware of a crew member with that name. There was a Cardassian spy on board one of the ships, but.... She's no longer a concern.

100% agree with Voyager. I think Picard would handle things with more restraint, and probably would have taken an additional few years to get home, but really it's "exploration... with a twist"

I don't know if we would have gotten protosalamander babies in tng, but then again we got sub rosa so....

Plus in keeping with the metaphor of "stealing flowers left at scenes of wrecks", it's more like a towing company coming in to remove the vehicles that crashed, but waiting a long time to do it.

If this were a recent wreck, and not 110 years old, this discussion wouldn't even be taking place.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said, EXCEPT that they're not that different. I think most of the shows have a very unique tone, especially when you go from TNG to DS9, but unless I'm mistaken DS9 was intended to be "different".

Maybe a few of the new ones are pretty similar, that's for sure. But the older ones? Nah.

But I'm not looking for an echo of what I just said, so by all means if anyone wants to disagree with me, by all means! I don't get a chance to talk about trek outside of the internet and I'd love to hear other takes on them.

Edit: and only after posting did I realize you meant the FANS aren't that different, but you do go on to say the shows are pretty consistent so I'll leave this here.

For now, given the size of the user base? Yes.

Will it be forever?

I pray to the Black Mountain Koala, NO.

With a fairly small amount of people, splitting up the fanbase seems counterproductive.

Besides, us lower-decker gotta stick together, unless it's delta shift (who really think Enterprise was the peak)

Oh for sure Hamas is deserving of all the hate and shit headed their way, regardless of anything else they still attacked. I'm just wondering if it could have been stopped and wasn't as a pretense. Study indeed. Intensively by many countries cooperating preferably.

I'd be reeeeeeeal interested to know just how much of the HIGHLY publicized attacks against Israeli civilians were completely expected and ignored in order to justify the retaliation.

Anesthetics are irrelevant.

You will be assimilated. (and forced to wire things as directly as possible because that is more efficient as long as it doesn't hinder future endeavors)

As former enlisted navy, I am offended by how little that bribe is. That's politician level bribes, we should be better than that.

Don't get me wrong, I was SO HYPED for The first half of the Endgame series. It kind of petered out and I didn't even end up watching endgame until over a year and a half after it left theaters. But knowing I wanted to see it I avoided most spoilers. I think we know which one I LITERALLY COULDN'T avoid.

I don't have much interest in the ones that came after endgame, they could be better than the originals for all I know, I've just lost my taste for them for now.

My wife and I did watch all of them in Chronological order though two years ago, since she had never seen most of them.

People have different tastes in movies, and that's okay. I won't hold shawshank against you lol my own wife didn't care for it, though for my sake she claims it was great.

I guess my very lazy point is that your taste in movies can be whatever you want, but we can't pretend basic action movies are cinematic masterpieces, or that being a proclaimed "cinematic masterpiece" means you'll like the movie. (I'd argue a movie can be a master class of cinema while still being an objectively bad movie)

"worry you can't point out the literal war crimes of one side of this three sided war, because one of the other three sides also commits them"

And if you point out the hypocrisy, you're a nazi or anti-semite. Because apparently the government and military of the country of Israel represents ALL jews.

And I guess bothering to point out that the situation isn't a simple "take out one group and MAGIC PEACE!" solution that people seem to be implying. Plus the fact that anybody slightly questioning the official story gets shit on when the official story is basically the exact excuse the GOVERNMENT (not the people) of Israel has been waiting for to get what they want, and have made no secrets about for decades.

Maybe if we hadn't stuck our collective noses in it for the last 80 years, they'd be a lot better off.
