For now. Eventually they will be exchanged and sent back to war.

Is it not obvious to you that not all governments are equal? Ukraine was invaded for no reason except for Putin's longing for the Soviet Union or the idea of an empire that can compete with the West.

The propagandists cheer for every bombing of Ukraine and say "we must do more". Tatarsky, who was killed in Saint Petersburg, even had fought in the Donbas, and there's a more recent video of him saying "let's kill and rob".

There are laws in many countries that can get you locked up for advocating for killing people or making serious threats. In war, arresting may not always be an option.

That can work for small improvements but not for active development at the pace of Chromium and its forks.

Thinking of starting Tchia, given its recent addition to Game Pass.

I switched off after having found that its privacy settings prevent extensions like Dark Mode from reading your dark mode status in the OS. There's a workaround but I might as well use something else.

What is the proper way to tie multiple artworks to one entry? I think that was possible on the original Atlas. Here it seems that even duplicate names are not allowed, so documenting many instances of one thing (e.g. the Ukrainian flags) isn't straightforward.

That's overkill. Shaun's video on Harry Potter is less than two hours long and tells you all you need to know.

The store came to be as an "f you" to Apple, as evident from the email exchanges at the time. The 1984 trailer from Fortnite seemed to be in the same vein. I don't think that particular trailer was for the purpose of promoting the EGS, as there's not a single hint to the store in the video or its standard placement.

If it were purely self-serving, they'd agree to settle with Google on special terms similar to those offered to a number of other publishers. Court proceedings last for years, as would be obvious to Sweeney, so sacrificing years of revenue for the distant prospect of having to pay 0 to the platforms is easier explained as being ideological than a business decision.

As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, the game sold 1M copies in three days after its Epic and consoles release, and it was just revealed that the total number of players is 7M, less than a month after the game was released on Steam.

The SteamDB owner estimations put the number of Steam owners at 131K-209K, with 12K concurrent players at its best.

This suggests that most of the sales took place before the Steam release, but it's unclear how many of the sales were on the Epic store compared to the consoles. Either way, it's a major success for the game.

The article contains some important clarifications by Epic:

After publication, an Epic Games representative reached out to give us a more current figure. These days, Tencent owns about 35% of Epic shares.

Epic is an American company based in North Carolina. Tim's the controlling shareholder. There is no realistic chance of the Tik Tok scenario occurring with Epic. In the worst case scenario, Tencent would have to sell 15% to other shareholders, and business would continue on as usual.
