Enjoyed this and now following consumer surplus. Any other newsletters / blogs that you would recommend?

Granted. You have a whole minute longer than you had before.

I'd vote for waiting for 0.18.1 if it's only a couple more days

What's a good source of wrestling news that respects the readers intelligence and time?

The amount of clickbait and non news is horrific and feels like it has gotten worse recently.

A good example is the recent Punk ESPN interview. We had a bunch of stories reporting that people are unhappy about it or it was a shoot before it even came out but it was clearly all above board.

When it did come out, websites like cultaholic split it up into about 5 different stories when all you had to do was read the one interview.

Wrestling news for the most part feels like YouTube reaction videos. One piece of news that then gets spun off into 100 opinion pieces and hearsay until the original story gets lost. That's if the original piece of news was even legit because there are hardly ever any tangible sources.

Or do you not read any 'news' and just enjoy the shows? I do wonder if enjoying wrestling and reading about wrestling are two entirely different hobbies sometimes.

To sum up for anyone finding this later:

Running your own jellyfin server is best and free. Check out the servarr community to get started. Will take a bit of setting up but if you can figure out Lemmy, you can figure this out. I'd personally recommend some kind of Usenet subscription with this but some might prefer to use torrents.

You can do what I do and get an app share where someone else runs the server, downloads everything for you etc and you pay to use their service.

Stremio / Syncler paired with a paid real-debrid account seems like a good solution but you can use torrents if you don't want to pay anything. This is seriously good and cheaper than an app share. I'm getting rid of my backup app share and using this in its place.

Thanks all!

Amazing thanks for the help I'll try them later on

Ah that makes sense, shouldn't be too much hassle to get them in there then if I can find a good source of torrents. What's the go to place for those?

Thanks so much

Nice, I had a play with this earlier and it seems to work well if you know what you want to watch. Did see a few 'no results found' for some obscure shows

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (5 children)

Nice so after I posted I went and started setting this up. What provider(s) are you using? I'm using Syncler+ and RD with a Jake something provider. Have seen quite a few 'no results' except for newer things and it's a lot slower than stremio to find links but it does look way nicer.

That's similar to what I ran before although it was Emby and Usenet (sabnzbd) as I didn't have access to any decent trackers for torrenting. Was fine just for me but I need to provide more of a Netflix experience for my non tech savvy household and the storage cost would make it painful

Well... we're talking about some manga drawings which might just look like Funko pops with breasts to some but you decided to instead say that we're irrefutably talking about 'pictures of naked kids', a massive oversimplification which makes your argument look stronger.

'if you do then more power to ya bud' to make it sound like I enjoy that content despite the fact that I've already said that it does nothing for me. A misrepresentation of my position.

That's what makes it a straw man argument in my opinion.

Anyway thanks for the debate, I haven't followed on with what happened in the rest of the thread and really regret engaging with it in the first place. Sorry if I offended you, it's hard to get points across via text sometimes and I probably came off a bit strong.

None of this really affects me as I don't use Lemmy for NSFW content, I like the platform though and don't want to believe that it would be used for underage content so I guess we pretty much agree where it counts but came at it from different angles.

Peace and love

Someone educated me the other day and taught me to use a URL of yourinstance/c/communityname@otherinstance

That seems to work better for me after doing the search you suggested. Takes a minute or two though for it to start showing. From there you can subscribe and then it will show in the app.

Enjoyed this bit of hype and it was pretty well put together

So somehow I've never played a Diablo game but I do enjoy loot in my games.

Is 4 a good game to jump in to for the first time or is 3 with all the trimmings the better experience for a newcomer?

Rather hear opinions from real people who are passionate about the game than read or watch a load of IGN spiel.

Is there a federation issue with sopuli.xyz?

Been trying on and off for about a day and still can't get the above community to show up. Tried with and without exclamation.

Any tips?
