It's not all news and tech! Lemmy hosts the most extensive collection of Star Trek memes I have ever seen on https://startrek.website/c/risa

Somehow I'm ok with the writers not finding a lore explenation for that problem. I don't really want to know how every single alien wipes its ass.

But where and when is the crew supposed to go then? I don't remember a single episode where someone mentioned they were off to drop some logs.

Heck, imagine being a species that does this the normal way, dropping that unit like a real warrior. Not getting those breaks will put a constipated look on your face all the time!

Fun fact: these natural phenomenon meddle quite a bit with the measured direction of the reflection. Fortunately only with the elevation part. But if you know you are looking at a ship, it is quite safe to assume an elevation that puts the ship at sea level.

But the same can happen with aircraft. There the problem can be more troublesome if not accounted for.

In order to get good results out of an LLM, you need to be very precise in what you want. Even if it can spit out an entire game, you will have to describe it so well, you are basically creating the entire game yourself. But instead of using a standard programming language, you are using something understood by the LLM.

Instead of awkwardly failing to turn it down, use it. If you are interested in a second date: say that you will allow them to pay, if you can pay next time 😉

Tolerance is a social contract, not an ideal. If someone refuses to adhere to the contract, then they are not entitled to the benefits of it either. Hence, there is no paradox. When we say "be tolerant to all" what we mean is "please adhere to the social contract, and assume everyone else does so, until proven otherwise".

According to the article, the Texas Attorney General, the state of Arkansas, and the FTC all won a sizable judgment against them. The description from the DOJ of their business also screams pyramid scheme.

Radar is kinda hard for subs. Hence air and missile defense are kinda hard for subs.

Comms with your drones is also kinda hard underwater. In fact: if you need to surface to launch and control your drones, why bother being a sub?

Drones will just be another weapon stuffed onto surface ships. Expanding the ever growing arsenal of these ships.

In the world of darkness setting, most vampires cannot eat anything other than blood. Drinking coffee would be like drinking liquid ash. Often causing the vampire to puke.

If the synthetic blood is not real blood, it would be like that for them, hence they would physically struggle to drink it.

The question is: can lab grown blood be converted to vitae by a vampire body?
