Why not make a fake loading screen that adjusts load times based on how long it took to load the previous instance within the same environment?

If I'm using the same version of everything, and same hardware, then those load times would be very similar or near identical, and I no longer have to deal with randomly jumping status bars, no?

I think this is a step in the right direction.

However, what if it's a secret boss? Should the hidden trophy say "defeat the secret adversary"?

I'd rather stumble upon these things completely blind so I don't know how they can give the trophy a meaningful unhidden label without spoiling something.

Stuff like this is another reason why I believe trophies are useless, outside of a miniscule dopamine dose from hearing that jingle upon beating a hard challenge, and knowing what % of players beat a certain story boss and seeing that % go down the further you progress in a game and start feeling like some badass...

Nah I think we'd be better without 'em.

I assembled my current workstation with an RTX 3080 to coincide with Cyberpunk 2077 release.

Now I was lucky I bought it right before prices got gouged by scalpers, and to this day its considered a high end PC. 2 years with 0 issues and easy customization.

In hindsight that piece of trash scam of a game was a blessing in disguise.

SMT III Nocturne. Still the best JRPG of all time, just love that game's atmosphere and music, sans the random battles.

Then tried P3 took a while to get through. Pretty good but not really that into it.

Then the DDS duology games. Great JRPGs and some of my favorite megaten titles.

Then P4 which was incredible. 2nd fav Megaten title.

By the time P5 came out I kinda outgrew and got burned out on the teen highschool drama social link stuff. Played around 45 hours and stopped. Might come back to it later.

SMT IV and IV:A was decent. Currently playing SMT V and really enjoying it. I really wish they gave the main series the same care as the Persona games, as I prefer the quieter more straightforward approach of those games than following teen gossip and rizzing up virtual waifus.

I'm surprised at how easy it was to make the switch. Now that servers are stabilizing here this is pretty much a very similar experience.

Appreciate the breakdown. I'll definitely try those other apps and see which one is the smoothest.

I'm a simple man who's been using RIF all these years.

I came over here to avoid the drama and start fresh. But somehow there is drama going on between something called beehaw and lemmy.world? What are instances? Are they servers? What or who is being defederated? Somehow I just joined but I'm shadowbanned cuz I registered on lemmy.world?

The text box bugs out and trying to type in a new line jumps to some random point in the previous line in Jerboa? Kinda wonky

I dunno I hope all this shit gets sorted out cuz I wanna settle so I hope all involved parties sort out this bs
