...so the (racist af) Tsukimichi series/manga/webnovel has this Demon race, right? Whole isekai happens because they instigate a war against the h(y)umans outta nowhere and the Goddess needs a hero.

spoiler
Well~ turns out these mofos had it comin'... and so does the Goddess. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฟโ€โ™‚๏ธ

it only sorta works for this post since the main character is quite indifferent to the ~~conflict~~ war for quite awhile
interestingly, the story primes you up for that reveal with a precursor villain of sorts

spoiler
Lime and his cohort are quite villainous until you learn what brought that fate upon the Rembrandt family ๐Ÿ˜

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago

was there a reasonable alternative?

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago

the method was the problem as far as i'm concerned
not that i saw enough episodes pre-timeskip to have a strong opinion, though

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago

holy shit, you in for a treat
there's atleast an hour's worth more of a movie in the comic
also, the motion comic's pretty freakin' dope

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago

something something "From my perspective the Jedi are evil."
something something "You were supposed to bring balance to the force, not destroy it."

Spoilers for Berserkโ€™s Golden Age Arc, Tsukimichi episode 11, and Attack on Titan season 4 episode 4.

A rectangular image bearing three characters on the bottom and a white title over a black background on the top. The title reads: The "he had no choice" starter pack.

The characters are, from left to right...

  1. Femto (aka: Griffith) from the anime Berserk stands ominously with head tilted partially down and eyes forward to the audience. He bears a purple skin-tight bird-like armor that only reveals his eyes and mouth areas respectively. Behind him are monstrous creatures bearing large teeth and eyes.

  2. Makoto from the anime Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy walks forward with dead eyes directed at the audience. His hair is black and neck-length with bangs reaching just past his eyelids while the center one passes his eyes completely. His expression is cold with unknown intention. He wears blue dapper buttoned-up clothes of a merchant. All around him is darkness and a strange mist.

  3. Eren from the anime Attack on Titan stands in front of an orange brick building while staring forward at the audience with a look of conviction. His left eye and forehead are covered with bandages while his dark brown neck-length hair covers half of that side of his face and flows far past his right eye, which is mostly visible. He wears a tan colored top of some sort.

All three characters either already have done something evil, have already decided to, or both.

A text messenger imitation displaying txts between two people. From top to bottom...
1st txt (sender): "hey"
2nd txt (receiver): "what's up?"
3rd txt (sender): "i've got the day off ๐Ÿ˜ [smirk emoji]"
4th txt (receiver): "oh? ๐Ÿ‘€ [eyes emoji]"
5th txt (sender): "yeah"
6th txt (receiver): "so what do you wanna do? ๐Ÿ‘ [peach emoji]"
Bottom right: Image with 5% opacity of Rebecca (from Cyperbunk: Edgerunners series) in "Crying Amogus Eyes Rebecca" form.

The color scheme is based on Rebecca's colors from the above illustration. From top to bottom...
Background color: Light Cyan.
Sent txt box color: Medium Aquamarine.
Received txt box color: Chestnut.
Bottom box's "Type a message..." text color: Charcoal.
Bottom box's color: Onyx.
[END OF IMAGE DESCRIPTION]

Context & Explanation: The txt exchange is implying segs. The 6th txt is an unintended chorus lyric of the song "I Really Want to Stay at Your House" by Rosa Walton & Hallie Coggins, which was heard during key (emotional) moments of the series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and arguably sung in part by Rebecca herself (to put it simply). Even without the fancanon, the lyric would be a gut punch of a reminder of a tragedy within the series, hence the transparent image of Rebecca crying as a stand in for the person who received the 6th txt.
Thank you for coming to my meme talk.

Japanese history version of the Domino Effect meme with 10 black dominoes from 2009's "World record for the largest domino toppled in a chain".
On the lower right is a hunched over male about to tip over the smallest domino (1st domino). On the upper left is the largest domino (10th domino), which is 8.8 times taller than the smallest.
Starting from the male and ending with the largest domino are individual sentences indicating specific moments in history.
Male: "USA giving Japan an offer it can't refuse (1858)."
1st domino: "Japan's Meiji Restoration (1868)."
2nd domino: "First Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895)."
3rd domino: "Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905)."
4th domino: "Australia gets the League of Nations to stay racist (1919)."
5th domino: "Japan & Germany becoming bros (1930's)."
6th domino: "Japan committing 'the Asian Holocaust' (1937-1945)."
7th domino: "Germany, Italy, and Japan start a gang (1940)."
8th domino: "Japan attacks USA's Pearl Harbor (1941)."
9th domino: "USA firebombs & atomic bombs Japan (1942, 1944-1945)."
10th domino: "Japanese girls rebelling by writing cutely (1970's)."
10th domino image: On the 10th domino stands an image with 2.7% opacity of the 1974 creation Hello Kitty.

Bonsai Pop's The Rurouni Kenshin Controversy video dropped yesterday and its timeline of Japan inspired a dominoes meme in me. Hours of my life wasted and here we are. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฟโ€โ™‚๏ธ
tl;dr about the Rurouni Kenshin controversy: Nobuhiro Watsuki (the mangaka) was convicted of and fined 200,000 yen for possessing "multiple DVDs with videos of nude girls in their early teens and other materials."

A more legitimate source for the 10th domino can be found on page 3 of 35 (Cute Handwriting and Slang) in the pdf scan of Chapter 6: Cuties in Japan by Sharon Kinsella in 1995's Women, Media and Consumption in Japan book.

  1. A tall pair of Ocean Boat Blue & White colored boots with slightly taller rainbow colored socks sticking out.
  2. A slightly pleated White colored mini skirt with a wide Sky Magenta colored vertical stripe down the middle and black underskirt shorts sticking out by maybe 4".
  3. An open zippered Ocean Boat Blue colored short-sleeved jacket with a non-folded collar.

Why was I applying to an Architectural Designer/Drafter position at a supposed furniture company? That's not important right now.

I just wanted to know if anybody knows of specific kitchen utensil brands that're actually worth buying long-term. Or atleast which ones should be avoided.

I've wasted time checking reviews for various sets and always find concerning ones between the positives.
I really just need a Spoon, Slotted Spoon, (Flexible) Spatula, and Kitchen Tongs.
A Deep Soup Ladle, Whisk, and Pasta Server would just be convenient.
I don't expect a set to have a solid cheese grater, so I'll be buying that separately by default.

Preferences:
I'm trying to avoid exposed metal on the head of the utensils since I'd worry about scratching my pots and pans. Other than that, I've got no preference beyond "non putting toxins or its broken off material in my food". ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฟโ€โ™‚๏ธ

If this post doesn't work out, I'll just start checking reviews for specific utensils. ๐Ÿ˜‘

I plan to buy my first split keyboard (forever) very soon and would like to hear y'all's opinions on the Glove80 (switch: Kailh Choc v1 Brown Tactile) and Moonlander (switch: Kailh Copper or Cherry MX Brown) two. I've already searched for threads and comments on the matter a few days ago through kbin, so any links to them you provide would probably be for others reading after the fact, which is fine.

I'm very interested in the Glove80's keywelling, but can settle for the Moonlander's sculpted blank keys if people think I'd enjoy the latter more. It'd be staying on my desk indefinitely regardless of which one I buy, but keep in mind that I use my keyboard for a bare minimum of 40hrs a week. >.>
Feel free to comment on the switches, btw. ๐Ÿ‘€

Current Keyboard: Aula BE FIRE SI-859 Wired Gaming Keyboard. Been using for 8yrs now and would like a quieter one since I've been told I'm a loud typer, but can settle for switches that have the same volume. I just like typing on this not quite mechanical mechanical-ass keyboard. ๐Ÿ˜…
Hands: ~7.25" long from edge of palm to tip of middle finger.

edit: Should clarify that I use Logitech's G600 and enjoy the 16(?) side buttons, especially with the customizable profiles.

edit2: I'm leaning towards the Moonlander for keyswitch reasons and would really like switch opinions. I've got no experience with switches, btw. Just regular keyboards and my Aula.
