I think that’s rather an important thing to work out. It’s all well having admins etc but no good if the instance goes away like happened with compuverse

No, everyone wants Avelon to succeed. There’s a genuine concern (based on what happened to other apps) that if the business model is wrong then it won’t.

We could do this without being condescending or making daft comments about entitlement.

But if that is the sort of community that people want then so be it.

Considering Apollo raised the price because even with all those subscribers they couldn’t break even (there was a lot of hate in the Apollo reddit when that happened) I’d say prices are likely to go up not down.

Please can you clarify how many are the limited number of filters in the free version?

This is the sort of aggressive, sweary, condescending post that makes any discussion impossible.

I’d hope that Avelon fans could have a civilised talk about the way forward. But apparently not.

So you’re going to have to migrate Feddit UK to a new server? That hasn’t gone well when other instances have tried it.

I also have concerns because it’s unclear who is paying for the hosting and managing the server itself. We could see a situation where the server goes down and Tom is not available. Do we know if the new admins have access to the server?

I don’t want to know Tom’s private situation. But I think a few of us have concerns about the continuity of Feddit UK.

Questions like:

Who is running the servers (paying for hosting etc)? Will the instance be kept up to date? (Is it only Tom that can do this)

Yes, me too. It had been working but no longer.

Also, the recently resurrected compuverse.uk behaves oddly v

It was always the case that the plans were a last resort and there was no way to migrate everything across.

Anyone can set up an instance so Quackhouse can still go ahead, that’s the benefit of federation.

This is the best news.

I’m relieved Tom is okay.

Thank you, great albatross and everyone else who has put so much effort into Feddit UK
