@lobotomy42 @dgerard Well eventually, because of roko's basilisk and on a long enough timeline I am bored of this argument let's just do awful things and justify them later like we used to.
Such lovely people. Ugh.

Naomi Novak wrote the Scholomance trilogy ( starts with Deadly Education), and I really enjoyed that one ( though it's aimed at young adult, I think, it hits the spot).
I have never cared for HP, but a lot of people have extremely strong positive emotions on it, and I have no interest in fighting them over their favorite books.
Such a shame the author then also turned into such a visibly terrible person.
@datarama @200fifty
I am kind of scared of the electronic god angle, not because it will be one, but because I think it might be a hideously small step to obeying what an autocomplete bot tells you to do, in some bizzare roko's basilisk corrilary, because you hope it will turn into a god.
In other words, I have some real concern for when these crazy things start spitting out instructions that don't turn into Looking Glass surrealism by the third step, and people insisting we follow it blindly.
@cstross @sneerclub I mean, I don't think the Echelon really appreciates everyone continuing to use the wrong name for it. Just sayin.
@gnomicutterance
I kind of wonder if part of this isn't literally 'so we can siphon up all the things you type for more training data', and literally everything else is just to walk around that.
So just a straight leverage to get everything everyone types!
It's sure an awful way to do it...
