Schwere Frage ich war seit 2012 auf Reddit und hänge schon ein bisschen an der Seite. Das macht es aber auch umso schwerer über Missstände hinwegzusehen. Ich könnte mir vorstellen Reddit noch eine Chance zu geben wenn:

Die API-Preise auf ein akzeptables Niveau gesenkt werden(naja am besten weiterhin kostenlos, aber ich verstehe das es Reddit stört wenn die offizielle App mit Werbung gegen 3. Party Apps ohne Werbung konkurriert) Es keine Abstriche am Umfang der API gibt (NSFW bleibt) Es ein Statement von Reddit kommt, in dem man sich insbesondere bei App-Entwicklern und Mods entschuldigt. /u/spez geht

Lemmy ist schon auch ganz nett, aber es ist noch etwas früh um zu sehen ob es wirklich die Lücke füllen kann. Ich weiß noch wo alle zu voat wechseln wollten weil China investiert hatte (wobei es dieses mal deutlich mehr Impact hat und lemmy sich auch deutlich von voat unterscheidet). Vielleicht ist es ja eine Chance zu den nerdigen Wurzeln der Reddit-Community zurückzukehren.

With the first blackout, any user who didn't bother to change remained on reddit. With July first, those on 3. Party Apps will be gone unless they actively surrender by switching to the official app.

U/Spez might think a majority uses the official app and that nothing is lost on 3. Party users who won't generate ad revenue anyway. However those users are probably the content creators that make the website worth a visit for all the "normies" that use the official app and costume ads

ein etwas holpriger start, gerade das mit dem Communities finden. Langsam wird's aber. Etwas erstaunt dass Teils doch recht große Unterlases noch keine Equivalente haben.
