Pretty much. It uses cryptocurrency infrastructure - and I don't really understand why anyone would be opposed to the tech in and of itself. It's useful tech, as demonstrated by us using it lol. But it'll never be exchangeable for real money, and anyone attempting to do so will be banned. And, because of the underlying tech, it's very easy to monitor everyone's transactions to insure that.

As for environmental concerns, the testnet (monopoly money area of crypto) runs on Proof of Authority. Which is sort of how most programs work: you confer with a server that says, "Yep, that's a real and valid action." It's not like Bitcoin where people are competing using energy-intensive computing to solve numerical problems to support the network and blah blah. Interacting with HubCoin should use less electricity than streaming media or playing video games, I would think, especially since each interaction only takes a minute or two.

But it's also optional. You can be a part of the Galactic Hub without using HubCoin. And if even that is uncomfortable for you, certainly no one is compelled to join.

Of course! I love Halloween so I wanted to give the community a fun way to celebrate, plus this is great for people who can't make the multiplayer events we usually host. Let me know what you think, and happy early Halloween interloper

I think it should all work for you on Switch! This is all meant to be playable entirely solo, except one mission which requires you to send 3 screenshots to me because I couldn't work out a smarter way to do it ๐ŸŽƒ Thank you interloper!

Yes, S-Class Staffs are obtainable in a similar way to multitools. With Staffs, the Head piece determines class and (for the most part) color. So, if possible, check every different head at every different Autophage Terminal in order to find S-Class Staffs. It should be considerably faster than hunting Multitools.

Yeah, all staffs have 3 supercharged slots at S-Class I believe.

It seems like both the class and the color are determined by your location (can vary from one camp to another on the same planet) and the Head you use.

I just upgraded it at the space station to be S-Class

Those will be first-come, first-serve beginning Sep 1st. So we'll release the location that day, you come visit the city, find the district you want to live in, then get in contact with the District Mayor for that district. They can help you get settled from there.

I can help you (or anyone else) via Lemmy, but you'd get the quickest response on our Discord.

A lot of people find that civilized space is the thing that gets them to stay engaged in the end game. Helping to contribute to a community, helping new players, opening your own business to provide resources, stuff like that. I, of course, recommend the Galactic Hub as your first consideration for a civilization.

That's like saying a sandbox is only sand. It is what you make of it. It doesn't need to be deep if your imagination is. Granted, that won't be the type of game everyone enjoys. But for those who do enjoy it, they end up putting in 2,000 hours like me, and I've seen plenty of people with more hours than me too.

They've recently added far more difficult enemies. Combat could still use some work, but groups like the Galactic Hub (my civilization) host PVP competitions. Fighting another player is way harder than fighting a Sentinel.

I think part of the issue is, the game makes you feel like you're supposed to "get it" all now. Whereas in the earlier versions, it just dropped you in the world, and you were expected to learn at your own pace.

If you can get past the initial information overload, accepting that you aren't going to retain or understand it all, then you can go back to playing with the "I'll learn when I learn" mentality.

I agree with you the tutorials should be optional, but there's an easy enough way to bypass them... a little tedious, but easy.

  1. Start game in Creative Mode or Custom Mode with the easiest settings all enabled.
  2. Complete everything in the tutorials in the equivalent of god mode
  3. Switch back to regular Normal or Survival settings once you're done with all tutorial stuff

I know that doesn't exactly fix your problem, but maybe it'll make it small enough that you could enjoy the game again.
