No worries, the rich is only going to take more from the poor ppl of Iran to compensate for that small loss.

I hope windows gets more viruses. Companies need to stop supporting that piece of *####
Aren't government in the business of also getting people's data, and turning that into a self supporting way to create some sort of revenue out of it?
The concept of utilising technology to predict crimes / apprehend and investigate criminals is a great idea and I'm all for it. Alot of people cheered for that concept initially, believe it or not. "Predicting and stopping crime before it happens". The idea was hailed by many who were victims and were living during times of fear.
But, lo... Put that tech in the wrong hands, and it becomes a tool for oppression.
Example is original post.
I just had an epiphany in these days...
To be honest we're already slowly heading towards a generation where real information is required, even for conducting casual interactions in the media and on various websites.
Governmentalisation, a term I thought I'd never use, seems to be a factor which cannot be easily detached from one's life.
Workplace, and almost all essential life practices which involves digitisation requires one to go the extra mile to use some sort of service that is supposed to be convenient, with no other alternatives or considerations for other alternatives.
Unfortunately, were already shifting the leverage towards empowering oppressive government further by giving them what they need and want, and preventing non-governmental entities of such privileges; and therefore, small businesses might as well create an alliance with the government if customers do not want to make business with them. Then it will be B2G (Business 2 government, or b2b to be honest), and they will not try to compete.
My workplace, full of "techies" nerds use things like WhatsApp, Microsoft, etc.. and im forced to comply if I want to not seem like a troublemaker or that person who just complains about anything, or that person who is asking to be fired for some 'trivial' matters.
It is really unfortunate, and maybe unfair, but I am rethinking about alot of things; and that's a great thing. It is great to be able to get in peace with conflicting emotions sometimes. We can only encourage men, not force them.
That is not to say that I am not insulted and triggered by such individuals who lack such basic awareness about privacy, and dare call themselves tech nerds. But psychological health is also important for me..*
Conspiracy theorists on the other hand: "CIA, Aliens, 3 letter agencies...." Blah blah blah.
I'll say this though, the notion of having the ability to know what's going on on the internet is a good concept, even if abstractly. It's just that the implementations have never been meaningful other than focusing on attaining/ acquiring a capital of information composed of data about people that can then be utilised in other ways, for monetary values (which was a cool concept, in it's own respectful ways, but I think it's still not there, and it is certainly not the kind of thing that would directly serve society and help give back).
Wasn't the first time Comcast Title
sucked a D
What is this title in lll
It's the shinobi secret technique
I'm on jerboa's Lemmy client on android, and everytime I try to post something and search the section where I want to post in, the channel for forum.hacklibery.org does not show up for me. And I would only be able to post in channels/ instances where they have an exposed API. Like Linux or hackernews, fediverse, etc..
This is interesting, as it does not seem to have an exposed API channel where I could post it in the dedicated pages for 'forum.hacklibery.org', so that all the users and participant may see. I suppose the only way for me to do that is by opening another browser and logging in and posting in there.
The whole bridging and API exposure and linking things are preplexing to me in this scenario 😅.
I apologize if I confused you too, but I will look around more, and figure it out ! 😀
Forget about threat model. It's becoming increasingly an irrelevant concept, as we reach total globalization and centralisation of all of these global companies.
It's frustrating, but it could be addressed by the EU members just like how they always have blew up Google so many times on so many occasions by suing them millions of dollars.
