Hey! Sorry for my lack of interest in the instance. I've been more and more enveloped in helping to moderate lemmy.world. This has taken up some time now. I will still hold this instance open, but don't expect me to do much. I will still hold it up to date and moderate it if needed. Thanks for understanding. My lemmy.world account is @[email protected], so contact me there instead of my snkkis.me account.

Well, I hope it looked good!

"My husband saw a roller coaster car with people in it falling to the ground," Lagerstedt said.

This just makes my bones shiver...

Yeah... I think a good rule of thumb would be to use the ID when driving or taking the train over the border, and the passport when taking planes.

Remember to bring your passports, folk ;)

TL;DR in English: This article is about how passengers who only have national ID cards on their way to the UK are being denied boarding at Torp airport. The rules apply to both children and adults. Passports or national ID cards with travel rights are the only Norwegian travel and ID documents that are valid abroad. The ID cards are only valid in EU / EEA countries and Switzerland. A number of countries have introduced temporary border controls in Schengen. An overview of temporary border controls in EU and EEA countries can be found on the EU Commission’s website. The app “Travel Ready” from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides Norwegian citizens traveling with easy access to travel information, travel advice and not least travel registration.

Snkkis.me has now updated to BE: 0.18.0 👏 👏 👏. This brings a bunch of security and stability to the instance.

Now to the other info: this instance will be shut down later today, as we try to switch server region. Currently, the server is hosted in the US, which is making it slow for Europeans, and that is kinda stupid when it's meant for nordic people... I hope this works. I will make a new post when we turn off the server and another one when the server gets back online to say if it was successful or not.

Cya!

When moving my lemmy instance to another server, how do i make shure that the instance starts up again? I used the lemmy-Ansible method to setup my instance. I use digitalocean to host my instance, and when creating a snapshot to move the server location, the instance would not work. Luckly i still had the original droplet intact. I am very new to server management, any help would suffice. Thanks in advanced!

You can probably make a mod-alt account on this instance if you want to help moderate it!

Hey there! What are your most "common" news sources? I can probably tell Norway's ones:

  • NRK.no - State owned
  • VG.no - Privately owned
  • TV2.no - Privately owned
  • Dag og Tid - Privately owned (mostly paper based)
  • Forskning.no - Privately owned (all about science)

That's all that I can think of atm, can't wait to see others'!

Hey! That would be great! I can probably link to yours as well if you want to. I've created this instance (and community) for everyone who is Nordic. I would be really thankful if you shared this community with others! :)

Hey there! I was wondering of how you might easily share your instance with others? I've created one mainly for nordic people, but I am struggling to "advertise" it to people. Have any tips for a noob at lemmy instances? Thanks in advance! Oh, and if you are by chance interested in joining, then just go to my account, it's hosted there.

What kind of program do you use to code/run the python script in?

Hey there! This is a brand new instance. This means that it has not fully federated yet. For this instance to federate, we need users to subscribe to other communities on other instances. To do this, insert the who url into the search menu on this instance. Then press search a few times, and then it should show up in the communities tab in "all". I am always here to help, so just mention me in the comments, or send me a direct message. You can also contact me on mail: [email protected]. A matrix group will soon be set up. Thank you for understanding!

Ha det godt!
