It truly has been such a pleasant experience. I have commented more since the 12th here than I have in a year from the other place.

Using on Android mobile has been a pleasant experience for me. Just added a shortcut to my home screen. But, I tend to not download an app unless I have to. Years ago when I was on Facebook and Twitter, I always did it that way. I never used their apps.

I am old-ish so I am not sure if that is why when I joined, it was very easy for me to find my way around. I say this because I've been on the internet since the '90s and have familiarity with hunting down what I need versus it just being there in an app.

Ironically, when I started on Reddit back in 2012, I quickly found bacon reader and have been using it ever since. It is one of the few apps I do use. And I will not be using Reddit any other way so I am here for the long run.

Behind the Throne by K. B. Wagers I really like all of her books. This is the first in a series. Lots of fun and very fast-paced

That was really nice. Thanks for sharing this!

Not to disagree, but I find many people don't know how to use their microwave. There are 10 power settings. Most microwaves allow you to do two settings at once. Just like we don't put everything in the oven at 450° we don't need to cook everything on the 10th power in a microwave. Especially in this summer a microwave makes a huge difference in energy usage and also cuts down on adding extra heat in the house.

So while you're not wrong about things tasting better being reheated in other ways besides the microwave, we also need to learn how to use our microwaves.

I wish The Ministry for the Future had been written in a different format and/or a bit more readable. I read a lot and hate to leave a book unfinished so I made it to the end. I know many who didn't.

The reason though for this is because it really hit home with the struggles we are facing now. Made it seem present ~ vs ~ something that will happen in 30+ years. Might have encouraged more people to take seriously.

I can't remember the specifics regarding the exact science, but in the book it talked about the rising CO2 levels in the oceans even after all they had done for the atmosphere. It was irreversible I believe?

This article addresses what I am inadequately trying to convey

I recommend Khan Academy as well. My daughter got her geography degree in 2020 and is starting back this fall for civil engineering. She was worried as well after the break, especially since she didn't need a lot of math with her first degree. Khan is what gave her the confidence to go for the new degree! It's an amazing resource.

This is awful. I can't imagine what she went through.

Finally had time to watch it tonight and I thought it was great.

I feel like what seemed corny or off was on purpose. Spock is on a learning curve with his emotions/duty conundrum and we certainly felt that.

Looking forward to next week!

Some part of our brains knew we were losing the real people. It hasn't felt right there in awhile. I wonder how many bots we were talking to thinking they weren't.

I've commented more this week than the past year on there.

The comment I saw said it was experimental iirc.

With all the buzz this week I wouldn't be surprised if they try to force everyone to the app eventually.

Exactly! I was a bit on the fence in the beginning, figured I would survive the demise of baconreader and use the web. Then they played the game with blocking the mobile browser, restoring deleted comments and resubbing, which is bonkers. Now with the latest news, there is no way for me to support this company. After 13 years I am done.
