Ive had great success with Mailcow on my Vps, they have good Docs to follow and also setup the DNS. Just wanted to drop that suggestion :)

I have lived in Hamburg my whole life, but also visited USA a couple of times, so I have a comparison. The People are different, more reserved here. But if you get to know someone a bit more, we open up just fine and can be great friends. English is widely spoken in the City, but maybe not as much when you get out the city a bit, so learning German is a plus. (You'll need someone to teach you, Duolingo won't do the trick) I'd be happy to answer more questions if you want to know something specific.

That isn't so stupid. The Marketing Dept. only has a Budget so big, and when that runs out they can no longer offer the Promotions.

Excuse me what, in Europe we are snuggling up with the idea of a 4 day work week

In my Town Where i grew up there was such a store that hired someone to do the actual work. That went well, they hired more people, made money, expanded and stopped doing their illegal enterprise.

Firefox, something Firefox based or something entirely other?

I didn't know about the Global Menu Bar, pretty neat.

Its way nicer. And I especially love the built in Download Manager. In the official App you just download files and have to play them yourself.

How could you tell the bee was dead when you stepped on it and not killed by you stepping on it?

Want to learn/try one of the two alternative Keyboards for Android. Which do you prefer, have had the best experience with?

What's your reasons for that?

I have a new Phone Plan starting in a couple of days. I have the option to choose a Physical Sim or eSim, both are similarly easy to get going. What are some +/- of both, what should I use? Or does it even matter at all?

One thing I think of but have no conclusion to yet is when my Phone gets stolen, is that a concern then?

One more click to search...

I've been using China/Xiaomi Phones for the longest time and hated the installed Android Version because all of the clutter, bloat and privacy concerns. Now I am about to buy a Google Pixel 7 Pro.

What do you guys think, is a Custom ROM needed or should I just stick to the Default with Adguard and Disable some Google Apps to get a similar Experience?

Just hoping to get some Opinions. :)

I have been using Nextcloud for over a year now. Started with it on Bare Metal, switched to the basic Docker Container and Collabora in its own Container. That was tricky to get running nicely. Now I have been using Nextcloud AIO for a couple of Months and am pretty happy. But it feels a little weird with all those Containers and all that overhead.

How do you guys host NC + Collabora? Some easy and best Solution?

On my Job I regularly have to install Windows PCs and sometimes even install the USB Drivers for Mouse and Keyboard to work. Why dont I have to do that on Linux ever? Seems weird not to have them installed on Windows.

Hey there. I have for the past year tried myself with some selfhosting of mainly a personal Nextcloud Instance. I also installed and used an RTSP-Server for Livestreaming, Traccar for Live-GPS sharing and Recording and a Paperless-NGX Server and Jellyfin. I use many of those Services daily.

Currently for my OS I am using Ubuntu 22.04, but I am not happy with my Setup. It's difficult to setup, because I am not the most skilled in everything Linux and Serveradminstuff.

My Nextcloud Instance is just running without Docker, some Services run with Docker and some with Docker Compose. I try to use reverse Proxies but can't get some things to work. (I use Nginx) (I ofcourse have a Domain as well with subdomains for everything)

So, my Question is: Is there a more Userfriendly and/or streamlined Approach or Server/OS that I could give a try and use? My Question goes not really in the Direction of which OS specifically, but maybe if there are Solutions to make it easier? I've read about Ansible-NAS, Unraid, Proxmox, Portainer, etc...

It is all currently running and mostly secure, but I just wish to make upkeep and stuff like that easier for myself.
