Every single post in this comment section is proof people don't learn.
Corporations never do something on a whim. A drastic change like this studied, in detail, by experts, who determine the possible PR impact, possible revenue increases etc.
Netflix is a great example. Everyone and their mom was saying how they'd lose money during the password sharing crackdown. Yet somehow they had a massive increase in subscriptions that quarter.

It then depends on what the federal courts think about the embryo=child issue.

Going all out in the beginning can backfire, there's a lot you have to think about. A couple things that come to mind:
- You lose leverage, the threat of more sanctions goes away if there's no way to add more sanctions
- There's a possible threat to American businesses who at least partly benefit from trade with Russia. Gotta think of how it impacts US citizens as well
- You don't want to sanction people who haven't done anything wrong (yet), since it disincentivises being "good". Why bother doing the right thing if you're getting punished regardless?

If you read the whole thing, it's clearly supposed to be a mashup of different aspects of reddit.
Dispatch can't really the crimes down, they won't even know what exactly is going on (just rougly).

A quick google search shows, that crime stats are reported by law enforcement agencies. How do these agencies know about crimes? For most crimes, it's gonna be because someone wrote a police report. Who writes police reports? The police.
