any english speaking social media site is going to have a heavy US focus

theyve got about 5 times the population of the next biggest english speaking country, its pretty unavoidable

the guy famous for his non-profit organisation* asking for donations and losing money on his projects is an extremely weird thing to have an issue with

why not just use forums for questions

i honestly do not care about having the option to pay for things

i consider the quality of a platform as if monetised features dont exist, and discord is still a pretty solid platform besides them

if they start monetising existing features, sure, that effectively removes features, but until then getting mad at things that simply do not affect me is silly

more often than not, authoritarian leadership coincides with a strong chokehold on local media and strong dismissal or even attempts to completely bar entry of foreign media

think the great firewall, or local newsstation, being subsidiaries of fox, reading the exact same statements from a script across the USA

oh wow, didnt notice that the community header is there too, thanks a bunch

@subignition im using the mobile site yeah, but its good to know that the issue is circumvented on desktop

is it possible to mute instances or communities as opposed to straight up blocking them? making sure they dont show up on your /all/ page but not removing the ability to view any and all new content when its linked via different community

also, is it possible to move the community/magazine description to the top of the page rather than the bottom, as infinite scrolling makes it a bit tedious to unsubscribe or subscribe to communities

Is there an option to move the magazine description to the top of the page, so i finite scrolling doesnt continuously push the unsubscribe or subscribe buttons further and further down? if not, could this be implemented as an option?

i dont see why that is such an issue, defederating beehaw seems punitive and petty

this is already a feature, go to 'instances' at the bottom of your page

the issue with this view is that it assumes the toxicity is 1. active, targeted trolling and 2. something that the people in question are willing to put significant effort into

the majority of the time toxicity doesnt flow in due to any active effort to be toxic, "brigading" is in reality usually just folks flowing in from /all/
