Still a big deal. Having a company owned by Microsoft decide to pull out of using your site is gonna drive traffic elsewhere. Reddit is only as useful as the content produced by users on it.

Their own feedback section on their site. Otherwise… ???

Ive tried both. I prefer Memmy. But i feel the Mlem devs are doing their best. Give them time. We will see some good competition between the two!

Giving and receiving gold was surprisingly, one of my least favourite things. Someone gave me gold once and i felt beholden to say thank you? I didnt ask for it, i didnt comment in hopes of getting given “gold”. I never gave anyone else gold. Why would i give a shit about getting it myself? Its a fucking forum.

I think the aesthetic and layout could be tweaked but im quite happily, happier than i was with reddit even, with how responsive and easy to use the UI is.

Even typing a comment i have all these text and image options beneath the text box right now, i havent used them once but could see potential uses for them. In reddit i would have had to do some dumb shit with formatting to get that kinda stuff, so my posts and comments were just text with paragraphs and occasionally a picture.

I may consider running my own federated instance at some point but we shall see!

What we need is a group of “hackers” like lizard squad back in the day (yes the dumb hacker trend we had) to DOS or spam threads with bots. Or DOS reddit mods and admins of larger useless subs that arent considered critical resources for important real life shit.

Yes im condoning dumb shit that got old over 10 years ago, but at this point… does it matter?? May aswell just be dicks with it.

“i do think the blackouts are pointless”

I think they have misconstrued youre line of thinking, they think that you meant any form of protest is pointless. When really you just thought that the one tactic used doesnt achieve much.

Where can i buy XMR today that wont scam me? Its been a while (2 years) since i bought any and Kraken has supposedly stopped dealing in it, that plus i lost my login deets for that site.

Any alternatives that are safe?

Its funny how both Reddit and Twitch announce API or policy changes that creates mass discussion within their respective communities regarding longevity and user experience. Both companies are doing shitty things for the $$$ and simultaneously creating mass exodus(es?) to other platforms.

What I find most interesting, is the announcements were made during a similar time frame and both plan to implement their changes on July 1st. I think thats pretty suspect? Almost as if a shareholder has their hand in both their pockets making a big push at once.

What are all of your thoughts on this? Im curious to hear some other perspectives!
