I don't think Lemmy is too unkind to existing Reddit users. The content is diverse and plentiful, and despite the specificity of being a "federated community", it presents a well-integrated experience. My minor complaints are a few minor bugs, but given Lemmy's rapid growth in popularity in recent month, I think they will be fixed soon. For now, users will have no reason to return to Reddit. So am I.

Tried it out. Twire still works. It displays "Preparing Your Stream" message in some streams though.
