I wonder how many of those are active users vs spam / bots
Kiwi
wtf is the linked website.
Also: “the daily best exclusively reports” is what the linked article is based on so take that for that you want
That’s unfortunately not really how this works. We are all connected, which is why you can see content from kbin and mastodon on lemmy and vice versa.
The mastodon community is talking about blocking meta instances from connecting but that is easier said than done
They defederated with multiple large lemmy instances (lemmy.world and another I don’t remember). They also did this in an asymmetric way making themselves an island whose content gets sent out into the fediverse but who doesn’t listen to updates for the content that gets sent out.
If I comment on a beehaw post as a lemmy.world user, my comment will only live on lemmy.world and not the rest of the fediverse because of what beehaw did
Shocked that in the game of capitalism the proceeds move upwards. It feels like even more when the government starts interceding. I’m tired of bailing out banks. If your bank needs a bail out you should be jailed
Yeah, their post about preserving the community reads very hollow. Is a community worth preserving if it’s context, and rules, and user submitted content are all owned, controlled, and misused by a corporation?
If we can’t have it, neither can Reddit makes much more sense. The community can exist without Reddit and they don’t seem to see the value in their community
Give me your best plant communities!!
Same, been using it for years with no issues at all
I’ve been using this docker container to manage the VPN connection and transmission and it’s been fantastic https://github.com/haugene/docker-transmission-openvpn
“There are no clear alternatives, some less dedicated users are returning to tumbler”. Tell me you aren’t paying attention without telling me you aren’t paying attention
