And I'm perfectly aware Lemmy and other social media apps would similarly contribute. But like I say, I'm an addict and need to get more willpower lmao

Honestly, this whole situation has made me realise how much Reddit has contributed to my brain rot and poor mental health for the past 7 years. I'm not blaming it all on Reddit, because of course there's got to be a deeper root to it. But god damn does this mental decline align perfectly with my usage of that damn app. I feel like an addict 😅

It's ridiculous. There are zero standards for moderation on that platform.

Yes! And the popularity of shadow-banning so there is zero accountability. It's irritating how unregulated the Reddit moderators are, but I guess you can't complain when it's all volunteers. I do somewhat wish they all get replaced by paid employees - then at least users won't be met with rudeness or unjustified decisions as much.
