I'll try it! Thanks!

I came to Lemmy because I was reading so much about it, but to be honest I don't understand the federation concept well yet or how it impacts usage. The UI and basic concept seems intuitive enough from registering a few minutes ago and joining a few communities and replying to messages, but I still need to learn more about how it works and hopefully someone (Christian maybe?) releases an app that does for Lemmy what Apollo did for Reddit.
About 30k in karma. I didn't use Reddit much on desktop but was addicted to Apollo. Every time I had more than a few seconds I would take out my phone and browse it. I think ultimately this will be a good thing. The quality of the posts and people in a lot of the subs I frequented had taken a nosedive the last couple of years, and others had very poor or biased moderation.
As if I needed even more reason to want to stay away from Twitter
There's always going to be a contrarian Redditor who is convinced they are absolutely right about everything and that they are morally superior to everyone else. A lot of them are corporate apologists until Reddit does something that goes against their cause of the week, then they turn on a dime.
