It could be used to other warfighting capabilities by a small nation eg. cyber warfare, instead of tanks, artillery and other traditional systems.

Edit: Also one might hope that those kind of technical skills might also be of use in the civilian sector, in dual-use sense.

It's funny, I've very recently had pretty much the opposite experiences with the Teams/Zoom reliability.

I had and interview project, and and in about 50% (around 15 out of 29-31, something like that) of the cases Teams calls failed pretty much in the beginning due to some technical problem, almost always the problems coming from the other end, on 1 case something unexplainably went to shit on my end (suddenly no sound or video), and I think of my self being pretty tech savvy on the user side. We had to fall back to phone calls for those "It's just Teams, no problems, I understand" cases.

In the Zoom calls, 5/5 worked without issues.

Wonder why this is such recurring issue. I mean, havent Microsoft poured hundreds of millions of euro/dollars into the app/infrastructure? Where is the money going?

It's the future, son. We can do better. Kill everyone.

Please dont. Then there would be two assholes annoying all the other people.

Samaa mietin itsekin, mutta sairaalloinen on hiukan liian vahva ilmaisu ilmiölle. No, kuitenkin: vähemmän mainosspämmiä elämiimme, vaikka paskajulkaisujen (pidän brittien termistä "rag" tämäntyyppiselle lehdistölle) kritiikittömät jutut itsessään sellaisia usein ovatkin!

Tämä on erittäin kovaa faktaa. Jotenkin kuitenkin tulee sinne ajauduttua välistä - katson tämän sellaiseksi "kukaan ei tilaa Seiskaa mutta suurin osa päätyy kuitenkin sitä lukemaan - call it morbid curiosity" -ilmiöksi.

p.s. mikä on suomenkielinen ilmaisu em. englanninkieliselle ilmaisulle?

www.is.fi##.fc-item__container:has-text(teaser)

Tuon pitäisi korjata Extran mainosartikkelit pois sivustolta.

THANK YOU very much, that did it! One more little annoyance less in one's day.

Yep I agree, world needs less apps, but also less PWA's. Regular browser interfaces can work well too.

[–] Kallioapina 1 points 9 months ago (4 children)

God damn it, I really hope thats not the case. Fuck em and fuck people who push useless PWA'S.

[–] Kallioapina 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Yep, thats why I'm calling for people with knoweledge to share.

On a sidenote, does anyone know a site or a document that would list and explain the settings in about:config? Sure, you can find some partial lists and articles from the web, but there must be more comprehensive materials on them too. I havent been able to find such documents.

As the title says, I'm wondering if anyone knows how to block these annoying menu notifications/dots in android Firefox Nightly?

They happen in regular android Firefox too, but I was hoping there would be some setting in Nightly that could disable them.

Edit: some typos

Some light carving out of pine on a strike day. If the boss wont scratch my back, I guess I gotta do it my self. Finished with light touch of chestnut colour staining varnish.

Sorry for the blurry pictures, I couldnt get decently sharp photos even after 4-5 tries. Maybe I need to carve my self a phone stand for taking pictures next.

Hey The Dev, this is just a one off, random non technical user's ( I know what does and thats it) question thar are you still advancing (developing has such a Heavy Tone in it) your app? I mean, I LOVE it for the heavens, particularily on the user interface, but its kind of lagging behind of abilities of other Lemmy apps.

Also the big concern is general security as time flies by.

So as a very satisfied but also a little concerned user: whats upp? Is the app still in development, even slow burn?

Edit: I'm a wee bit drunk and not an english speaker, okay, I edited some typo's.

I carved a walking stick for my father-in-law last year, from alder. Around 100 cm tall, slightly crooked horizontally. Painted with stained walnut varnish. Rubber end cap.

Camel's are known to be hard headed and stubborn, but luckily the camel that got this as a gift has a sense of humour.

Right now I'm also carving another walking stick to an elderly relative. This time the head will be a whooper swan and it will have a winterized (spiky) head.

Hi people, I was wondering if anyone of you knew a good call recording app for Android? I'm starting soon a new job and it involves a lot of interviewing, and I was thinking of recording these phone interviews for note taking. My company doesnt provide software for it, just a work phone. It's (presumably) running Android 12 or similar.

Some preliminary googling revealed that there maybe are some apps for it after the 22' Google's policy change, but I'm not sure what to trust. If you have any knoweledge on this issue I would greatly appreciate any nuggets of info!

I'm located in the EU/Nordics, if thats relevant.
