Goodness, that is a beautiful machine! I've been on the lookout for an HP-16C for a while, but I may need to add this to my list devices to search out and drool on!
I've been using Platinum Carbon Black for a while, and absolutely love it. Bonus points for it being waterproof.
I don't have any Psions, but I have a few Sharps and Casios that I use on the regular. It's lovely to use a purpose-built piece of tech!
Wow! You have quite a trove of exquisitely preserved calculators from the 70s! Are they devices that you've owned since they were first released, or collected over the years?
That is a beautiful machine! It is in so much better condition than I am, despite both me and the calculator having the same manufacturing year.
I have been drooling on these for years. It would take winning the lottery for me to justify spending $2000 USD on one, though.
I've been wanting to learn blacklettering and wondering if the Parallel was a decent pen for it. I think I'll need to pick one up!
Thank you for the info! That is a really cool project!
I'm curious how well they keep the nib from drying out. Have you done any A/B testing to see how long the pen can sit with the 3-d printed cap vs. the original?
As much as I love the SwissMicros line of calculators, the price is a little too much on the exorbitant side. If I was going to go with something not actually HP, the PX-16C is much more my speed and looks like a fun afternoon project, too.
Does the overlay come with it? The 16C has been on my list for a long time, but I didn't know that the 15C collectors edition had that capability!
Gorgeous! I love how it has the same design sensibility as the TI-99/4A computer.
