I know it’s always a game of lesser evil. I am not delusional. I showed up. I just am saying we need to be angry at our reps and the Rs… not people who are tired of showing up for neolibs who won’t even dare to suggest meeting their desperately unheard needs even halfway.

Weird that you are hostile to someone who definitely showed up and always has… by (again) berating someone who was not hostile toward you and whom merely pointed out perhaps a more effective strategy going forward.

To continue my previous analogy - I happen to have a strong stomach and ate every crumb… but still pointed at the rancid food.

I do know what we’ve lost. I showed up. I voted straight D. Did it in 2016 despite hating Hilldawg, did it in 2020 despite knowing Joe was Obama’s own DEI pick to satiate racists in the D party, and Kamala in 2024, despite her not winning a single state in the previous presidential primary she participated in.

I am heartbroken, furious, frustrated, scared, and ready to work to make things better. I just think we need to be screaming at feckless reps like Schumer, Pelosi, and our other useless rich neoliberal fools who refused to do more than kneel in Kente cloth… and at the same time we should be scaring the Rs (because they now will just smile at protests - they are not swayed by our voices) or at least showing we will cheer for those who do more than that…

I do want to mirror your sentiment… but unlike you, I know who our foes really are.

I truly wish you’d redirect that anger to an actual enemy of ours. We will need every ally we can muster for the foreseeable future. I will be pushing with every ounce of my strength for the party I keep supporting to be better, to encourage those among my peers who are disengaged, who feel unheard, and who are misguided - to show up… but I won’t place the majority of my anger at someone who couldn’t get away from their low-paying gig work to wait in line at the last polling place the Rs haven’t closed for 3 hrs just to support someone who won’t even push for a living wage or the right to affordable housing.

Always blaming the voters when the representatives are the ones who need to convince people to show up.

Yeah, ultimately young voters not showing up is a "reason they lost," but this is like saying :

"The reason you are hungry is because you refuse to eat this delicious food you should be thankful for that we are giving you" to a person who keeps getting sick right after eating said food. Additionally, the person is constantly telling you "I don't think this food is any good..." and then you keep getting mad at them saying "you must just want to starve."

You're technically right that the person you're fussing at might starve, but getting angry at the starving person... rather than the cook who keeps giving people rancid food sure feels like assigning a whole lot more blame to someone less deserving than someone who seems to be a much more obvious target to assign much more significant culpability.
