Awesome, this might be the next game I play!

Good points there! There's definitely a ton of financial pressure coming from huge corporations. A lot of cool games, especially those that are more out there will not get published.
Few thoughts after watching all the trailers:
- Cocoon looks freaking awesome, and you had me at Inside. Really interested to see how all the boss fights pan out.
- Mundaun has a very cool Twin Peaks vibe. Love the animation style.
- Thirsty Suitors definitely feels like a "I'm happy for you tho. Or sorry that it happened." kind go game. Not my thing, but it's important that more and more games try to cater to more diverse audiences.
- Ghost Bike has a cool trailer, but no hook for me.
- Flock seems like it's trying to re-create that Journey feeling (Also, Journey has one of the best multiplayer concepts ever).
undefined> ’m sure if Sony had the deep pockets of MS they would be doing the same thing.
That might be a key point here. I've never liked it when huge multinational corporations virtue signal, about any topic. Especially when info came out about them trying to make Starfield exclusive (timed, I think, but still).
In principle, I am against big mergers because they do stifle competition. I didn't want Disney to buy Fox, and although different, I'd much prefer it if Apple and Google were forced by lawmakers to open up their app stores. On a moral basis, I am against this deal, but I guess it boils down to me being affected just slightly, if at all.
That is insane. There was a number in one of the hearing where 1 million or so of PS5 users play COD exclusively. Like, how do they not get tired or bored of playing the same thing constantly?
Not to make this into a console war, but it's funny seeing each company accusing the other of doing anti-competitive stuff they're both guilty of.
That is true. I didn't like it when Disney did it with Fox a while back, but here it might a case of constantly hearing about COD this and COD that, as if it's all gaming is about. I kinda just want it to go away, especially if I'm not the target audience here.
It's not like us players have much say in this, anyway.
Nice! Hopefully in the future we can do icon swaps like in Apollo.
I knew AAA games were super expensive to make, but it's interesting to finally see actual numbers. It's likely games like GOW Ragnarök and Ghost of Tsushima had similar development costs.
I wonder what's the break-even point? Movies usually need around 2.25-2.5x their budget before becoming profitable. With games, it must be a reasonably complicated calculation, depending on the % the digital stores take (around 30% or near 0% for exclusives) plus whatever brick and mortar retailers take. Oh, and then there's stuff like premium digital editions, collector's editions and the like.
I love the new icon! Thanks again for all the awesome work you do!
All the best for the app review process!
Rift Apart I've played already, and I was really thinking about Returnal! Though I guess the time commitment depends a ton on how good (or bad) I am.
I might get the Switch follow-up, as long as it's backwards compatible so I can play both BOTW and TOTK.
