Bogs and swamps count for sure! I have spent many hours of quality time having type 2 fun in swamps. They are the one thing I have found everywhere I go yet still manage to be unique each time.
Awesome thanks, it works after trying the version with the !
at the beginning (as opposed to just community-name@instance-name
). Next time it happens, I will try with the full URL and see if that works as well.
How do you subscribe to an outside community if it doesn't show up in the search? I have tried entering the /c/[email protected] into the URL bar but it seems to just 404.
I still haven't finished it so I am still forming an overall opinion, but its certainly interesting so far.
Blindsight was great, I need to read it a second time.
Awesome, adding that one to my reading list!
The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin. I love reading science fiction from people with engineering and science backgrounds. Another good book I finished recently was Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.
r/ExperiencedDevs pointed at programming.dev specifically which is why I am giving it a shot. I have used decentralized stuff in the past like Usenet and IRC. I kinda miss the lack of corporate overlords.
r/backcountry great resource for back country skiing and generally a good place to find awesome photos, trip reports, articles, and discussion. I created the community here but none of my skiing friends use social media.
+1 on a Google replacement/enhancement. I used the
site:reddit.com
trick all the time on Google and it made results so much better. I am hoping that Lemmy can be a high quality open repository of information as Reddit closes things off. Trying my best to help get things going.
