Today I'm testing one of my Poesie Reissue purchases. I'm wearing The Abbey(sweet rosewood, white and red sandalwood, four vanillas, a spark of coriander and cardamom). So far I quite like this one. As with most Poesie scents, it's very soft. This one packs a bit more of a punch with the different wood notes and vanilla. But definitely still plays close to the skin.
Today I'm wearing Sorcellerie Apothecary Fuckery (Caramelized sugar, Luxardo cherry, cinnamon, tobacco, smoke, vanilla, amber, white musk). This one lives up to the name, to me it screams "I am a sexy bad bitch". It's smooth and dark with the cherry and vanilla bringing a sweetness. Definitely a fan.
I had a busy day yesterday and forgot to post! Yesterday was Solstice Scents Foxcroft Fairgrounds. This one really does manage to pull off fairgrounds in fall. It's mostly funnel cake on me, but I get hints of other notes that really work well.
Today is BPAL An Introduction to an Illustrious Kabuki Actor (White sandalwood, vanilla bean, fig froth, and buttercream.). I saw this one mentioned recently and had to break it out. I absolutely love this one.. it's sweet and creamy but still has that fig fruit edge to it. Plus I'm a sucker for BPAL's white sandalwood.
I finally have a job interview next week! But I want to use my current boss as a reference, and need to have a conversation with him. He's mostly been a good manager, but I know he will take the information personally and it's going to make the office uncomfortable. Especially if I don't get this job and then he knows I'm looking to leave.
Today I'm testing out Sorcellerie Apothecary Something Wicked (vanilla, patchouli, sandalwood, and whiskey). I had to test this one right out of the mail last week when it arrived. I did a small dot on the back of my hand and could not stop sniffing myself. So now that it rested a few days I'm doing my full wear test. This is my first purchase from this house, the bottles are so nice! This scent is so sexy, and it makes me feel powerful. It's dark and just sweet enough to balance everything out. The sandalwood is a nice sharp addition, and the whisky makes it feel like a grown up vanilla. This is an instant favorite.
I'll get a picture to post shortly! It's a really pretty color, just way sheerer than expected. That's what I get for not swatching my polish!
I'm hoping I can save some money before then, maybe splurge on a few bottles for my own birthday treat. Going to be a long fall! My favorite time of year and scent types.
Today I'm finally testing Solstice Scents Blackburns Parlor (Notes:Vanilla Waffle Bowl, Vanilla & Chocolate Ice Creams, Sliced Bananas Smothered In Caramel Sauce). When I first received this scent, the banana smell in the vial scared the crap out of me. It was cloying and artificial banana candy. It's sat for months staring at me. I was finally feeling adventurous enough to test it out at home today. And I feel a little silly because it's so nice on my skin! I don't know if aging a bit has helped or if it would have played nice from the get go. As soon as it hits my skin the vanilla waffle bowl blooms beautifully. It's smooth creamy vanilla, with a caramel banana background. It's not artificial at all, and works really REALLY well. Sleeper hit but I'm glad I finally got around to trying this one out! If the banana note here scares you, give it a try on your skin. It makes a world of difference.
I'm also wearing Dam Polish Don't go in there, it's haunted AF on my nails from the July PPU. This is a really pretty light blue base with a dense gold pink shimmer. It's SOOOO sheer though, I wish I had put a solid base on first. I put 4 coats and it's still incredibly sheer, I can see my nail line right through it. Lesson learned for next time!
I haven't tried Deconstructing Eden, I'd love to hear impressions when you get them! For the first time in months, I have nothing coming in the mail. I'm incredibly tempted by a few of the Arcana Craves September new scents. But unfortunately it's just not in the budget right now. Incoming student loan payments has put a hold on indie purchasing for a while. I'm planting seeds for my birthday in October, hoping my husband will buy me some BPAL Weenies because fall is my kryptonite and it's a terrible time to be on a low/no buy :(
Today I'm wearing Andromeda's Curse Baby Bat (Notes:Spicy Clove, Marshmallow Fluff, Caramel, Vanilla, Cedarwood). I love the punchy clove in this scent. It's sweet and spicy and it makes me want more fall weather! We've had a rainy cool streak and this scent felt right. Back up to warmer temps this weekend but I'm embracing the little glimpse of fall!
I have a busy day at work, so I went with one of my favorites..SugarMilk Co Cereal Milk (notes: Sugary, sweet and fruity just like the delicious cereals we loved as kids...and as adults!). This one never fails to make me happy. Smells like a bowl full of Fruit Loops.
Today I'm wearing Stereoplasm Scaredy Cat (Sheet white marshmallow, midnight sugar cookies and an extinguished candle). This is one of my favorite scents ever. Soft sweet marshmallow and a slight waxy smokey finish. Love it. Wish the brand was better, I will no longer order from them directly. But their scents are great.
