I decided to wear BPAL Chocolate, Cinnamon Bark, and Chipotle Honey. I absolutely love this trio, the chipotle makes my mouth water. It's very realistic and foody without being overly sweet. This is a great bridge to fall scent, with just enough spice.
Today is Arcana Wildcraft's Two Finger Ballet (delicate blend of French vanilla crème, white amber, sugared vanilla beans, caramel, and the smallest dab of opium). This one became an instant favorite as soon as I sniffed a sample in my first order. It was promptly FS'd with my next order. It feels like such a sexy grown up vanilla.
9/20- Poesie Charm of Making (amber honey in the comb, antique pages bound in leather, bunches of lavender smoked over a wood fire, jars of dried chamomile, juniper & clary sage). This one is a nice soft herbal blend, we'll see how long it lasts. I'm going through my Reissue scents and retesting them all to see what's worth keeping. The throw and staying power is just not there for most of the scents I've tried.
9/19-Today is BPAL Shadowed Veil (black pumpkin, leather, pomegranate incense, agarwood, and bourbon patchouli). I shamefully kind of forgot about this one, it was a b-list Weenie purchase before the collection came down earlier this year. I'm glad I ended up with this one! It's a sexy pumpkin blend, dark and a bit fruity from the incense. Really liking this one.
9/18- Today is BPAL October 33rd (Spiced bourbon apples, pumpkin soufflé, the dregs of your last PSL of the season, and a handful of candy corn). It's a nice cool day and I'm really digging the fall weather. We're supposed to have a warm spike later this week, so I'm embracing it for now. This was one of my favorite Weenies from last year. It's a perfect gourmand embodiment of fall. Spiced boozy apples, creamy pumpkin, love it.
I wouldn't be opposed to starting a Sunday swap thread, but I'm doubtful on having enough active participants at this time.
9/15- Today is BPAL Clown Footstool (tuberose buttercream with white sandalwood, gardenia, and vanilla sugar). This was my favorite floral gourmand combo I tried this summer. I've been in fall mode, but this one just sounded nice today. The weenie release is happening sooner than I expected, so I'm excited to browse and build my wishlist. This one is my last hoorah for summer.
Today I'm wearing what has become one of my favorites Stereoplasm Librarian (Vintage perfume, rosewater, aged paper, velvet upholstery, Cherrywood, cognac, orange butter and mulling spice). There's something so sophisticated feeling about this perfume. There is just a touch of booziness from the Cognac, and the hint of spice really brings it all together. This one is somehow so much more than the sum of it's parts. I'm glad I picked up a large bottle in the last set of clearance sales, as I don't plan on purchasing from them directly anymore.
9/12- Today is BPAL The Antikythera Mechanism (Teakwood, oak, black vanilla, and tobacco). This one gets a bit forgotten in my collection in favor of LE/Seasonal scents. But I always end up coming back, it's an old favorite of mine. To me this is like the more masculine version of Solstice Scents Manor. The sharp woodiness and tobacco make this one less sweet, with just enough of the vanilla to balance it out.
Thanks, me too! Been a long weird day and I'm hoping to get out of here soon.
I'm stuck in the middle of a sticky situation at work, with no proof to back up my claims. A coworker lied to me this morning and cemented my suspicions. I'm already in the process of looking for another job, but this just made the wait even more unbearable. I had an interview 10 days ago, but will probably not hear anything for another couple weeks (yay slow moving state government). In the meantime my work life just 10x more stressful and I'm feeling all of the emotions with nothing to do but vent. Shit sucks.
I love reading your reviews, we have such different tastes. It's nice to read info on houses I haven't tried yet and scents I wouldn't necessarily pick for myself.
