@[email protected] is just a mod, a user like you who also moderates a community. They have no control over the things you're talking about, which would require the Lemmy developers to implement.

Racist pieces of shit have already stolen swastikas (meh), viking stuff, white polo shirts, red hats, and the OK hand gesture among many other things that we can no longer in good conscience use. Stop letting these assholes have our words, symbols and clothing items. Take them back, make them our own again.

No one is seriously mistaking the PC Master Race joke with an honest attempt to genocide our way to a "pure race" or some evil shit. Suggesting that the name be changed is cutting the nose off of a community solely in order to spite its face, and doesn't 'protect' anyone.

Exactly. But, as another person pointed out this does make it easily obtainable by delivery.

This is great, but christofascist-run states are just going to either straight outlaw it, or enact some kind of requirements making it virtually impossible to obtain anyway. A med being over the counter doesn't stop them from making it legally or at least practically unavailable.

As far as SharePoint and the other M365 SaaS services, those are updated by Microsoft with no interaction needed from you. Desktop installed Office apps can be and are set for automatic updates by default, but in my experience you'll need to manually push updates for them periodically.

For Azure, as @[email protected] said, any SaaS/PaaS and security back end are kept up to date by Microsoft - but if you're running Windows / Linux VM's in Azure, the patching inside those machines is on you unless you've setup automatic VM guest patching in Azure:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/automatic-vm-guest-patching

For the rest of it... how are you handling patching for your other clients? What patching and/or RMM tool(s) are you using? If you're not aware of how patching is handled "in the cloud", how are you handling it within the network?

(edit) - For knowing what's going on with Microsoft patch day, the real answer is that IT shops / MSP's of a certain size have a patching team who keeps up with news about updates, and likely a security team who keeps an eye out for critical security vulnerabilities and remediations. If you're not big enough for that, here's at least a starting point for Microsoft patching:

That's pretty much the short of it. Unfortunately, if a social media site proclaims itself to be a "free speech" platform, the inevitable end is that it will be filled with fascists. I had high hopes for Voat back when it started, too.

As for the communities and the fediverse, you probably should subscribe to the midwest.social STL and/or MO instances because they've seen a lot more activity. (Links you can subscribe to with your lemmy.world account copied again below.) If these ones on lemmy.world don't gain much traction I may set them to not allow posts and just keep them up as a redirect to the midwest.social instances.

Ah, well then yeah he should have been more explicit, or simply not replied.

If the question asked was "do you agree to the contract?" and the farmer answered "👍", then yeah I can see it. But if the question asked was "have you received the contract?", then this ruling is bullshit. Unfortunately the article doesn't have enough information either way.

Most posts and subscriptions to lemmy.ml don't work from lemmy.world as well, in my experience. To clarify - they work, but no one at lemmy.ml sees your posts, and the subscriptions all permanently say 'Subscribe Pending'.
